Okay Carl or whom ever

Finally come to the conclusion that my detector is not the best in my ground. Red, iron bearing clay of Virginia. About 6-7 is max with a half way good ID number on a dime, but the small coil is severely handicapped when it comes to depth. The most I can imagine with the 5" coil is about 5 1/2" deep. Thoughts on what might work best?
