  • Whites Coinmaster Classic II

Not sure how old this unit is but I have two quick questions for any of you whites coinmaster classic II owners/gurus, On the control box is a 3 way switch, it has "reset", "all metal mode" and "lock".

Is this switch an On/Off/On Momentary type of switch?

I picked this unit up for cheap on ebay, the seller said in good working condition. I even messaged him and asked him how he knows it works and he replied that "it makes the usual sound when turned on and beeps when metal is passed over the coil, everything works good".......lol

Well, it doesnt work and I know for a fact now it didnt when he shipped it either... The lame arse took and pieced together boxes to ship it and it came apart during shipment. He left the lower shaft with coil installed and in the upper shaft and shipped it in an operating type position, so the shaft was broken in half when the mailman and I pulled it out to check it.... Some people amaze me with there stupidity and their tenacity to lie and try to cheat others.....sorry for the mini rant, just a little pissed at the moment...

Anyhow, the 3 way switch is broken and I am thinking when clicking over to use the "reset" it would be a momentary type of switching.

Also on the discrimination pot, it doesnt feel right at all to me, lumpy and rough to turn so I am going to replace it as well, it is a 10k pot but the one on this unit seems to pull up (or out) to lock and push in to turn. Anyone know what type of pot that is or what its called so I can find one to replace it with or will a standard 10k pot work ok?

After those repairs, I'll have to see what other issues it may have....

I appreciate any and all help in advance..

"Is this switch an On/Off/On Momentary type of switch?"

      Yes

Two end contacts wire together and the connected to the board the center pin to the other connector on the board.

Switches from Disc to All metal one way and quick retune the other

Most whites classic have the on off switch on the disc pot. Should be 5 wires. If so any switched pot of the right value should work.

Hey thanks for the help Koala,

I figured the 3 way switch had one side as momentary so thanks for reaffirming for me.

As far as the disc pot, it isn't the on off type, the other knob is on this particular unit. This pot has only the 3 wires so I'll swap it for another 10k since it is trashed.

Thanks for the response and help.

Thanks also to 6666, I didnt figure they would still carry parts for this one thinking it was an older unit but I'll call them today to find out. Thanks for the reply..

A little unhappy with "whites" customer service... I ordered the parts and the following week I still hadnt seen where the order was taken from my account so I called them, she never placed the order but knew who I was... So she redid the order, 3 days later I get only 2 of the 3 parts I ordered..... wtf....

I ordered well in advance (the 15th of may) of memorial day weekend so I could have this thing fixed to take with us to the beach, obviously that didnt happen...
Now I have to call them today and straighten it out once again... and wait......

there are a lot of scammers on ebay and craigslist mate, sanner1965 on here bought a 1266x off ebay that "worked" for 50 quid, he asked me to look at it for him, and the same deal as you, it was not working when sent, no possible way it could, one board was 1266x and the other was 1265x, also the pots were all wired backwards, the upshot is its totalled.
i gave him 40 for it and stripped it for parts, an easy fix became a nightmare, so please guys be carefull what you bid on, i wont ever buy cheap bargains ever again after the way peter was scammed, if its no returns and too cheap walk away.

Unbelievable, Called them (her) back and had to reorder the switch because she forgot it in the previous package..

Well Guess what, she sent the wrong dogon switch..... How flippin hard can it be to get a simple 1 part order correct...

Sinclairuser, I completely hear what your sayin..., I ended up filing a resolution with ebay and getting the 25 shipping back for the trouble
and the damage, at least that paid for the parts needed, well almost all the parts, cant seem to get the right switch sent...
