  • Old Whites coinmaster

I have inherited a old whites coinmaster 4/DB MD I don't know if it works. The battery pack is missing and I don't know what voltage it runs on. Can anybody tell me what size battery pack it takes and voltage, what kind of MD it is (PI,Vlf, or other) and is it even worth messing with. Can it be updated to work better? It has a 8 in coil on it. Please advise!

Whites Coinmaster 4/DB uses 12V battery pack (2 x 4 AA), as still available in electronic stores.

        Guys,
Thought some of you might like to know that on Linkedn it shows that Carl Moreland who was the lead engineer at Whites is now at First Texas. Havent heard this on the forums yet. Dont know if that means Dave Johnson is still with First Texas or Carl just joined their team. It says he is engineering manager. Cant wait to see what Carl does there.
According to Tom Dankowski over at his forum nobody has left first Texas - Carl was just added to the team. What his actual role will be in relationship to other engineering personnel of course I know nothing about.

In any event it's great news for first Texas. Now let's see them put out a PI detector with the same weight as the of 75.

The 4/DB is a TR-disc model. Technically it's VLF (6.592kHz) but it's not a motion disc model like modern VLFs. If your ground is mild it may work OK but won't have great depth.
