  • VDI on Surf PI 1.2 possible ?

I start to read the thread about arduinobased VDI and wonder if it's possible to build
something like that on a Monocoil Surf PI 1.2 ?
Somewhere on the board it must be some signal the Arduino can process and determinate what kind
    of material it is ?

The VDI circuit will only work with a continuous wave detector, as it relies on the quadrature outputs of the synchronous demodulators to calculate the received phase-shift produced by the target. The Surf-PI is a pulse induction detector, which operates exclusively in the time domain. The received signal does not contain the information necessary for target identification. The best a standard PI can do is to reject targets based on their conductivity. In other words, adjusting the main sampling delay will progressively eliminate low conductivity targets as the delay is increased.

      Thanks anyway for the answer.
