  • witch kit from silver dog

hi travis here after building my barracuda from just a board given to me and a parts list and this web site i have finished it and my father has shown interest in building one
i had a few probs alone the way as i just bumbled my way threw it im a hack no teck at all
    so my question is
witch kit should my father buy i am fine with the coil building
but he will need a kit with good plans and step by step instructions with points to check along the way
does the silver dog kit barracuda come with all this info
or would the surf pi be a better kit
it is only for beach work as we have gpx minelabs as ower main units
    thanx travis

i now this may seem like a lame question but i feel that some of the mistakes i made would
of not been made with some sort of build plan

Have you looked at the Minipulse Plus project? -> Minipulse Plus
Read the Build Document for REV-C, and also take a peek at the Completed Projects section.

I just ordered one of these boards too. It looks like a fun project.

Depth is tough to pin down, it depends a lot on the skill of the
builder (board and coil) and the soil conditions and targets available.

Luckily the sand at the beach is generally easy to deal with so I would
expect reasonable performance of 8" more or less...

To paraphrase Silver Dollar, that's like asking "How long is a piece of string"?
The MPP will operate well at the beach, and be able to detect some of the smaller jewelry. No problems with wet sand.

Hi gdogg, download the Building the Mimipulse (REV_C).pdf file, located at Forum - Projects - Minipulse Plus - Minipulse Plus REV_C. The parts list is about half way through the Build Manual.
