  • digital pot chips

    here is the dallas range of digital pots chips {- a few prob by now list is a while back}

    some are a little nicer for metal detectors than others some have memory or memories and preset analogue gnd floor etc....
    anyway i would appreciate any info regarding others
    i already know the analog devices AD 8403 and the mixer tablet ssm2160p is a 6 ch pot with floor adjust and channel set etc with memory {together can be used to make a active filter up to 1 mhz easy.....
    and is more suited to filters as it is 6 channel plus 4 MUXED from an ad8403 programed by spi single wire serial or by shifting a series 10 bit data string to each from one pic84 running at 10mhz
    these chips can be clocked in at up to 10 mhz 100ns....
    so they are very fast for changing the pot positions so all sorts of uses in detectors
    {i have some picbasic examples code and an asm block or two too deal with them also there are several versions of asm source on the net

    run by a extra 16f84 in a standard detector arrangement "single coil" the arrangement could have a direct bandnotch {or bands} filter {or a digital comb } set up using one or two ssm2160p and a 8403 i can send what source i have and url 's if anyone is interested }

    DS1267 Serial port control, dual pots
    DS1666 Audio digital resistor, up/down and INC control over wiper
    DS1667 Digital resistor w. OP-AMP, serial port control, dual pots
    DS1668 and
    DS1669 digital rheostat (1668 is packaged with a pushbutton built into it)
    1669 is controlled with UP and DOWN pins
    DS1802 Dual audio taper pot w. pushbutton control pins. (has one set of pins
    (volume UP and DOWN) which can control both wipers so you can adjusted stereo
    channels while keeping them in sync)
    DS1867 Dual Pot w. EEPROM, serial port control
    DS1868 Dual digital pot chip, serial control
    DS1869 3V digital rheostat, manual control pins (UP/DN)

    all of these chips use a similar suffix which indicates the overall resistance
    of the pot. These are the three most common ones

    10 = 10K
    50 = 50K
    100 = 100K

    but some others are also avalible

    post below any lists from other manufacturers please...

    feel free to email any feedback direct
