  • Rubbish finds from uk beach

Had a couple of hours with a deus, 9" on Sidmouth beach. Was expecting at least 1 coin... Nothing. There were lots of people bathing in some decent surf. Nowt.

too true GN, i have a theory that the devon and cornwall beaches get so well cleaned up, due to all the locals in the off season that there is nowt left to find, you are mainly looking for recent drops, all the decent stuff i have found down there came from dunes where kids hang out, and the stuff has never been there very long like the blackberry i found on a previous visit to bude(returned to owner), that was a local lads and was only lost 2 weeks after charging it worked fine, after charging i rang the "home" phone number in contacts, and took it to him, his dad has given me permisson to detect his land when we are down there for returning it.
to be honest i only use the beaches there to test out my projects these days.

Its the same here in Australia, there are so many people detecting the beaches here you are lucky to find a bottle cap.

So I guess there is no point for me to take my metal detector on our trip to Australia in October.
