  • dipole detector ....

    how about this

a pole with a coil wound either end

this will give a big differential to additavly subtract for descrimitation and can also be used as a place to dump the voltage antiphase

so then you can sweep a big area
    in different styles
you could also have a large high q pulse coil and walk an area just gate listening

and i think rather appealing to oriental metal detectorists.....

can i have some feedback about this #
tie chi metal locator with exercise
would also give a good way to practice oriental arts
giving presice movement locators for moves......
    just an idea

    Re: dipole detector ....

I like the idea if it's a true dipole. Would be nice to get away from the "loop" with it's powerfull magnetic field that iron so dearly loves. Let's try it!

      Re: dipole detector ....

A helix wound flux-gate mag will scan a wider area when held in the horizonal position and is very precise for locating objects in the vertical position. Re: the differencial PI dipole, how would the phase be handled?

        Re: dipole detector ....

i think invert each pole by lateral so use a taped coil anti phase wound left left or clockwise anticlockwise turn over

if there is interest i will document further the principle

          Re: dipole detector ....

          you miss the point

this isnt a metal locator man

more of an exercise aid with ultamate precision and quanta analysis for us in the mean time

                randy

                look at 4metal

design further down the forum to the links to my homepages for 4metal and proteus eda and cpu sim app...

                i use a "pinger" coil

                like an echo sounder

                gating the signal

the full schematic isnt finished and minimilised yet

for what is a big topic to take on

i get no help from others who love the lets say sport of metal location with a view to preserving the past at all costs and at the same time being able too see a ringpool for a ringpool on an lcd and pick it up anyway to put in for charity..... etc...

so help me to realise multicoil detectors

and get far far away from the single "coil" guys

                by writing some code
                or

band together as a group of single individuals with there own goil in shape but with a common cpu cores

swab the decks fi...r each up up the ... i dont know

but get it built at minimum cost for maximum enjoyment

this way multicoil purse pulse pwm with interpliration of data will be there

it is half drawn most of the guts are strung up

just too decide on a front end

vladir posted a nice front end design

maybe carl we need an ideas pool

a simple site you get too via the schematics page

to post just idea jif or bmp and an explanitary post

call it a pot hole or a cave or the place where deep ideas live

i will be happy too contribute any and all

                as free ware

but my ideas are my only resole so.... my copy right remains

you can use them but no comercial intent permited

                  Simeon read this

                  Simeon,

I am not a programmer, but am a RF/Analog designer. Most of my experience has been in Op-amp filter design and comb filters using Bucket Brigade delay lines. I would like to be a part of your team after I get Carl's PI built and tested as I can only do one thing at a time but am looking forward to working with you however you can use my talents.

nice thanks ill hold you too it lol

if i can help in carls design or infact

with anyones needing help or in need of another brain

                    let me know
