Simple Russian PI detector Pirat

I wrote my coil specs in my last post. 12-15 Turns at a 15cm diameter coil with 0,3mm wire.
I dont have an inductance meter. Just a multimeter. But it worked before and it worked with almost every coil.

When i connect a battery without coil, it sounds like the capacitor gets empty and the sound dissapears slowly until its silent.

I get the same sound when i disconnect the battery from my BFO.

Maybe the sound from my coil is normal, and i have not heard it because the speaker was on.

Placing A speaker Not the one in circuit close to your coil should induce power into the speaker making audible sound. DO NOT WIRE the speaker as the Coil unless you like Magic Smoke. Short the Leads on the Testing Speaker together. There is little to nothing to compare on this Detector to a BFO other then they both detect metal. LOL

Your Coil is far from Good but should work well enough to test with.

If your hearing sound from your Coil it's only because your windings are loose. Not a Issue here.

Do the Speaker thing again with the TEST speakers Leads Shorted together one more time. If good. Test Op Amp Pins again. In DC ! 2,3,5,6,9 and 13.

The Toasted Diode was Messing shorting out any signal to the Op Amp.

I got a sound with a 5cm diameter metal speaker shorted. But not with a smaller speaker with plastic housing. I could hear the sound from the coil from the speaker in near of
the coil. I think with the coil is everything ok, the problem is at the right side of the coil connector.

I got 260Hz at the left bar and 129Hz at the right bar.

I accidently connected the pins from the 1uf electrolytic capacitor where the audio output is and got a sound. I did this with the base and the collector of the transistor too and got a sound from the speaker too.

Chase down the Fault. Sounds like you have a Open some place, Eaaa? Bad Cap?

Isnt this normal? The capacitor thing? Can you try this at your pirat?
Ah wait, you cant try it when everything works.

Is the doubled frequency normal? 260Hz.

How much should the inpouts of the second op amp be?
Can i measure them just with DC? Because i have 0V Pin5-Pin8.

Don't know what that other freq is from. Should only be what ever your Fet is running I think. Dont know what the inputs should be other then .7V or what ever the Forward drop of your diodes used. The Out Puts should be more for sure coming out of the first Op Amp. The second Op Amp is just being uses as a Voltage Comparator and you should be able to see it switching I would think.. That switching may be where the odd freq your seeing is coming from.

I have not built the Pirate yet. Pin 5 should be 0 from Pos. Pin 8 is not being used.

Should every frequency be the one from pin3 NE555?

Maybe i have doubled the signal with something. Because its exactly the double of it.

I think i will wait till my op amps arrive , but i think its not the K157ud2 too.

Hi Arionas, cool you're back here again.

I have a perhaps interesting tip for you:
The village Slashten where the Blisstool comes from
is just ca. 130km air-distance from you.
I guess the shortest way is via the town: Drama.

The whole area is also interesting for treasure-hunting.
Maybe I will check out what can be found there!

I tested the frequency again with another multimeter and i got 0,20kHz again, the other one (voltcraft measured 260Hz and 129Hz).
I used the one wich showed 0,20kHz to build my TGSL EDU and everthing worked.

The coil works, i can only be the processing or the audio, i will replace the K157ud2 when it arrives and if the detector is then still not workin i will replace the elkos and transistors
or build a new one. I think its the Op amp.

Can someone give me a sprint layout file with NE555 and LM358 or TL072/TL082. proteus ares or cadsoft eagle is also ok. but sprint layout would better.
I know its somewhere here in the thread , but im to lazy to search.

Simple Pi is also ok.

Why do you need the Sprint Layout? Just use the Photo and Photo Transfer ?

photo is also ok , but i want the small version like the russian op amp version. about 90x40mm

I had problems to print the picture in original size in the middle of my paper. Its always at the left side.
I will make another version tomorrow, i cant wait.

I open the photo in Paint. Resize as required. Then I print print as is not Fill/Justified or the like. It works for me.
