Surf Pi 1.2 to Vibratector 730

I have a the vibra-tector 730 from treasure products : http://www.treasureproducts.com/vibratector.html
This is a great product but very low power, max 5-8 centimeters max for detecting a coin...
I saw on the forum and of number of videos that the Surf Pi 1.2 was very powerful and small . More than 20 cm to detect coin with 10 centimeter coil : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWWAn7VLQlM.
If I do it the surf PI 1.2 do you think I will have more power in salt water.
There is also the electric power (12V) problem of the Surf PI, it works with a 9 volt battery ? Need small battery for sealing underwater.
Can I replace Buzzer with vibrator in Surf PI (dc motor)
