syncronized pi units

Hello,
This forum is awesome for someone like myself that loves DIY technology that competes with the big guns of the industry.
this is my 1st post, and above all I like the idea of a pastime with a potential payoff.
my question is has anyone syncronized 2 or more pi systems to be towed behind a vehicle?
When one is on the other is off in order to maximize the area of one sweep.
