i would like to build a pi detector,i'm going to be using it,just wondering which proj.would be best. will use to deepseek so needs fair size coil.i also would like to build gradiometer if my tech skill will allow.i'm assuming the grad. kit's available are using solenoidal sensors ? are there toroidal coils available or would i need them. also how deep would a home built machine penatrate, i really only need 5or6 ft. i would like to add that these sights y'll have started are very informative. and greatly appreiciated. keep up the good work,im like a kid in a candy store. thanks again // john

Re: help// which proj. to build
Hi John
Another good looking project is Carl's PI-1 project. It has all the features you need and you can experiment with diff. options. Garry's MD is also not bad. But less options for experiments. You can find Carl's PI-1 on his web page. PCB's are for both (Carl's & Garry's)projects available.

Re: help// which proj. to build
thank you all for the info, can i use a 44in. coil wiht these proj.? and would i need to do any special tuning? p.s. this has quickly become my favorite forum. im impressed with finding a no bull site to interact with intellegent folks for a change. as i've wasted some time with lrl's. i probably need not say i've had few imbarassing moments with those things. well atleast i tried, now i can move on. thanks again you've me new hope in my ventures sincerly john

Re: help// which proj. to build
i would like to thank everyone for there input. i've looked at several good proj. and i must say , i'm so excited, i don't know which one to start first, but i think i'll start with a resistivity machine. i showed schem. to a tech freind today , and he said we won't have any problems with it. looks like good starting point. it may be a few days before we start, but i'll try n keep ya posted. thanks again, john
