  • Inside the Metal Detector - new Amazon Price??

Has anyone noticed the new price for "Inside the Metal Detector" on Amazon??

Anyway, I see it as $999.11

Why the dramatic price increase?? Error? Or other reason?

    Comments . . . .

The people selling at that price are called "drop shippers".
Basically, they don't have the book in stock; but - if someone is stupid enough to buy at that price - they then search around for a cheaper copy and sell it on, making a large profit in the process.

The first edition of ITMD is now out-of-print. Neither Carl nor I have any copies left in stock.
We are currently updating ITMD to correct any errors, and make some small updates. The biggest change will be the removal of Chapters 13 and 14 (the LRL stuff) which will eventually become a second book. The second edition of ITMD will only be available via Amazon using their print-on-demand service.

If anyone buys a copy at $999.11, then they need their head examined.

A second book solely about vodoo-dowsing-rods? ITDR "Inside the dowsing rod"?
That is your decision which we have to respect, but I'd rather like to buy a second book about metal detectors with real working content than a book about LRL-frauds. Maybe ITMD part two for the advanced topics and projects that you left out in ITMD.

I own ITMD 1st edition and I probably would buy the second edition just for curiosity and because my first edition is so worn out (I carry it with me quite frequently).
Congratulations that you will remove chapter 13/14 which from my perspective have wasted so much valuable space in the book that could have contained serious content.

Thank you for writing ITMD. The book is a treasure in itself

P.S.: 999$ for something which you can get for far less money when you know how to use the www is some kind of intelligence test...

Thanks for the update, but what are the differences between ITMD 1st edition and later editions?

          As stated in post #2:

Basically, the first print run is now exhausted, so this is essentially a reprint with corrections.

The LRL stuff is being removed from the second edition for the same reasons that we now have a separate LRL forum at www.longrangelocators.com

However, we both believe that it's important to balance the enormous amount of "dowsing rod voodoo", that's already in print, with a skeptic's view of the subject. One of the problems we found with the first edition of ITMD is that people either bought the book for the metal detector information, or the long range locators, but rarely both. So it makes sense to separate these two subjects.

We do have plans to write a Advanced ITMD version, but that will take much longer to come to fruition.
