  • Makro Racer

Since I always had the intention to improve and mod detectors
to the hilt, especially the best and deepest ones, I'm absolutly
satisfied now with the new Makro Racer!

The only thing is that the speaker-gaps on the lower side have
to be closed from water by default because this is the region
where the detector stands on the floor while digging and
if there is wet grass etc. the moisture can easily penetrate the housing.

See the pix below - the solution is very simple, even some stripes of
tape are enough but of course I made it as perfect as possible.

The Pro-Package comes with a special cover for that housing
but neverthless any Racer should be directly secured from water!
You even can see the paper of the loudspeaker behind the gaps.

For everything else I can assure you top features and quality!

    The unbelievable thing:
The Racer even detects meteorites or special mineralized stones!
Found it out by myself, this is not described in the manual.

The Racer also displays depth and metal-value on its screen,
has manual ground balance, different sound for different metals,
ready to go even for beginners, easy to use pinpoint trigger switch
and LED-lamp plus backlighted display for perfect cave or night-search.

Depth is the same good as with the DeepHunter's motion circuit,
its super lightweight, also the additional 40cm coil is ultra light
and its very easy to adjust with the up-down / left-right menu buttons.

The name Racer stands for highest efficiency because its very lightweight
and ultra deep so its perfect for very fast going or during treasure-hunts,
especially while using the 40cm coil for huge areas.
The recovery speed (signal processing) also is very fast.

In the next time I will test how good is the electro-smog immunity,
how deep it really is and how good it compares with other MDs but
after some simple tests I'm already pretty shure it will do a great job.

Personally for me it's already a big victory because now after many years
of engagement everyone can buy a super valuable detector from Makro
for just ca. 600 Euros or Dollars and will absolutly benefit from all the
developments, knowhow and improvements we wanted to have since
the last 5 years. The Racer represents not just my and others important
improvement suggests (experiences from the active treasure-hunters)
but also the spirit of turkish engineering perfection and innovative ideas.

Just close the speaker-hole with some tape or glue some plastic-sheet
over it and everything is fine. This is important technical info because
otherwise the detector may get serious problems if the grass is wet etc.
Save is save, no matter with or without additional protection-cover.

If someone is unlucky even some thin branch etc. could stick into the
speaker hole from below and destroys its membrane or even water could
run into it. So its important to prevent all such dangers in the first place.

btw. the 6,3mm headphone jack has its own waterproof rubber-gum-cap!
Of course the speaker still is loud enough if you make it water-protected.

If you have technical questions etc. you can ask me and I also may
show you the results of my performance- and compare tests -
with the standard and the 40cm coil.

By the way: I could already detect a cannonball in the living-room with it
    - at almost 80cm with high electro-smog and just 65% sensitivity!
So I'm really curious how it performs with natural conditions!

Heres a first field test overview from yesterday @ pretty steep wood region (see pic) :

    1. The lightweight just 30cm coil detects in air a bike from ca. 1,5 meter !!!
This was really astonishing to me - compared with other detectors!

    2. the Racer uses a special slow-motion circuit which seems to combine motion with nonmotion
(if you sweep the coil into direction metal the signal already shows where exactly the find is
like a nonmotion circuit and even very slow sweeps will create a very good detection signal)

    3. detecting mineralized stones or meteorites:
Set the detector to allmetal, press the pinpoint switch to ahead position and set the Ground Balance to zero.
This is an undocumented feature I found out myself and it works perfect.
Of course the usual ground should be medium to low mineralized (humus, meadows, woods etc.)
so you will detect the special mineralized stuff with a good signal.
(by default the ground balance value is at ca. 50-60 = medium mineralized soil, the Racer also has
a special wet salty sand beach setting)

    4. Depth and signal-to-background-noise ratio is fantastic even if some high-voltage e-smog is nearby.
You will detect 15mm musket-balls, 20cm buried, already if the coil is 15cm above surface.

    5. Also the lightweight construction of the whole detector is absolutly great.
Even kids can use this detector for many hours without geting exhausted.
And of course this is perfect if the terrain is very steep or dangerous.
But the main advantage of the lightweight construction of course ist using it
with the 40cm coil - no prob for the whole day long.

    6. For persons who wanna listen to the detectors audio signals,
the Racer offers a slot for an optional available bluetooth dongle for wireless headphones!
This is great because that way the headphones-cable no longer disturbes while hunting
or could get damaged because it simple doesn't exists anymore.

    7. I can't believe that its possible to reach such a depth with only 4,8 volts!
Because it works perfect with just 4 x 1,2v NiMH accu's (or usual 4 x 1,5v batteries, too)
It has a fantastic signal-processing to amplify the real metal signals by using
a very battery-saving amount of coil- and detection-circuit energy.
And such a set of 2500 mA rechargeables fur shure will lasts for 20-30 hours.

    8. And now the best of all:

    The new vibration technology !!!
Listen to your favorite music or whatever with an additional mp3-Player or smartphone with FULL volume
and dig out the finds when the detector vibrates. This is no longer "hard work" or concentrated listening
to all the signals "mashup" but pure luxury fun!

Seen from the technical point of view the vibration circuit reacts extremly good and sensitive so you
even have to reduce the detectors sensitivity to 60% or something.
Also for older persons or such who can't hear very good this detector is the perfect opportunity.

    Believe me:
The Racer in combination with a vibrating Pinpointer will make your experience of treasure-hunting
completly different. No longer "boring" listening all the time to abstract audio-signals but enjoying
music, audio-books or radio etc. while having a lucrative treasure-hunting walk through the "park".

    Important!
Always make shure your mp3 player or phone has long enough energy-power or better take some additional
accu-pack etc. with you, because it's really frustrating if the whole new "treasure-hunting entertainment"
ends immediatly, just because the mp3-players, smart-phones or radios battery is empty!
This happened yesterday to me but of course I still went on for another 3 hours with usual hunting!

Of course enjoying the silence also can be fun or stress-relaxing:
You even can set the Racer to minimum volume (this saves also battery-power), listen to the interesting
noises of the nature or area and hunt with vibration only. Also this can give you a totally new feeling,
comparable with hunters in earlier times who stalked quietly through the woods and fields.

This new vibration feature (I'm shure within a few years all MDs will have it ... ) also is
very practical if you dislike headphones but you still wanna hunt as "stealth" as possible.
You feel the vibration in your hand but noone can hear that there is a detector working.
It's also practical because if you use headphones you will (almost) not hear whats going on outside.
The vibration has 5 sensitivity settings and also can be used together with the audio.

btw. the vibration signalizing is the same sensitive as even fainting "audio" signals!
Yesterday I could already detect at the first time a little 2cm nail 10cm deep while
sweeping the detector 10cm above ground.
I found out that the vibration method works the best if the coil gets swept medium fast.

This detector is made in Turkey (and not China) and the warranty is 2 years - another proof
of security and high quality. Get it before it may be sold out because I have the feeling that
it will hit the treasure-hunting community like a bomb and from beginners to experts everyone
wanna try or have it! For the next time I will use the 40cm coil and see how deep stuff i can find.

thx for your interest and good luck

Perhaps it has a boost-mode switching regulator in it, like the Fisher F75 & Teknetics T2. Or maybe it uses a centre-tapped TX coil, like the T2. Or a dual-resonant TX drive circuit like the F75. There's lots of ways to get 'power' performance, you could easily achieve it with 2 x AA NiMH's, or 1 x LiPo/Li-Ion cell. The XP Deus only uses one LiPo foil-pouch cell in its coil, for example.

Reading Funfinder´s postings is like a novel. But always written in good Quality.
        Thanks for that Report.

but did you stand in any relationship to makro detectors?
it often sounds to good what you write

in german Forums i heared that the first Racers has problems with overload Signal, especially at wet grass and low temperature
and the coil Shells material seems to brake fast at the clampings

          @bernte_one
thx for the flowers and I really wanna be as objective and technical as possible because i have some kind
of good reputation to lose and it doesn't pays off seen over a longer range of time spreading false infos.
And not all things are good, I'm too realistic so I see all the failures also directly, like the open speaker.

We are here for modifications, technical improvements and recognizing what new developments are good.

You might be right - the coil shells clamping region might be not thick enough or could be thicker
(actually its ca. 2-3mm thick for the standard coil and 4mm for the 40cm),
but I guess usually there should be no problem with breaking if the plastic screw was turned tight enough and
if the coil doesn't crush with full power into stones or other hard stuff.
So far I had no troubles with it so I can't criticize it.

The company Makro for me is the same interesting or "connected" like Blisstool or other real powerful detectors I've written about -
in terms of technical perfection. If they are good they get my feedback concerning improvements.
The real development started in 2010 when I got the Jeohunter - and not for free - this thing was even pretty expensive.
But it was worth it for a technical and treasure-hunting freak like me! The new Makro Racer I bought some days ago.
The Jeohunter and DeepHunter still are great (for very deep stuff) and I showed here how to improve it and what can be made better - for the sake of all here and the further ongoing metal detection devolopment.

I think the main problem is that there are so much different metal-detector companies out there and they all have meanwhile
pretty good detectors! How can someone decide what is the best for himself or seen from a different angle:
"I have already a good detector, I don't need a new one with some improved features!"

But I don't care, I'm a very forward looking person which is eager for improvements. Those are counting in this inperfect world.

btw. my main excitement and enthusiasm about the Racer is because now I can listen full power music while treasure-hunting!
I did this already before but silent enough so I don't miss the find-signals!
Treasure-hunting is fun and exciting and not hard work! That's why its perfect if you can make it "party-stylish" as much as
possible and we have now this possibility! Cheers !!!!!!! *kling kling*

          @ Skippy
The main method to get more juice is to transformate lower voltage to a higher state
but of course this will reduce the batteries power or draining time.
It seems the Racer uses ultra-sensitive computer-calculated signal-algorythms incl. filters
which make it possible. btw. the Garrett Ace 250 or EuroAce also works already pretty good with just 4,8v
but compared from the depth and e-smog stability not that deep or more for the average user good enough.

I have to check out how deep is the Racer at high mineralized ground but so far, seen from the e-smog
stability, it performs really great. The Ace 250 beeps at that region where I was like hell and must be reduced
to 60% sensitivity or any detection is not possible at all!

            40cm coil and rain test

This was a really interesting & also successful hunt today:

            1. The Racer with 40cm coil detects a bike from over 2 meters !!!
This is the best result I've ever got with a motion detector, its even better than the DeepHunter with 45cm coil.

            2. Signal stability while hunting is very good (low background noise or ground signals)

            3. the vibration-detection is not good enough for sweeping the 40cm coil very fast as I do always.
But it works at sensitivity 40-50 and with medium fast to slow movements and 10cm above ground.

            4. The weight of the 40cm coil is light enough to sweep it for a long time 80cm ahead of the feets.
This is important to cover a real huge area with just one sweep.

            5. depth and recovery speed is unbelievable - within 5min I found 3 musket-balls.

            6. the waterproof is really a problem:
I have opened the Racers battery region just because a few drops of water went into it by capillar-effect.
Because of the directly nearby PCB and circuit it made the volume totally silent and the detector even
created signals when the potentiometer was turned to completly off.
(this means removing the batteries or clamping a plastic-sheet between the contacts to switch the Racer totally off)
After drying everything was fine again but this can't go on!

I had already the right intention by closing the nearby speaker-holes but I didn't think the water
will run directly into the 6,3mm headphone jack! The gum-cap is pretty useless because it
opens every time by itself and the gum-ring around the jack is absolutly not tight enough!
This means that there's really the need for additional water-precaution-measurements!

The easiest solution is to cover all the dangerous regions with enough water-resistant glue.
And put plastic-bags over the electronic-parts even if it starts to rain a little bit.
It's also a good idea to secure the openings of the battery-case with some tape.
            From the inside or outside.

And instead of that gum-cap its better to shove some tight fitting gum-part directly
into that 6,3mm audio-jack while the ouside has been secured by glue.
Otherwise this will be the No.1 entrance for water, together with the open speaker gaps.

It would be better if Makro gives away that additional water protection-covers as a standard
and not only if someone buys the Pro-Package for 200 bucks plus (with some smaller
coil and accu-loader, basecap, T-shirt etc.; the 40cm coil and the bluetooth dongle is still extra)

Anyway, if you take care about the needed precautions and if you don't need the vibration
(it works but not sensitive enough) for the 40cm coil this is an unbelievable deep and lightweight combination!!!

Set the sensitivity to 95, set the ID-filter to 30 (with 2 tone) to discriminate all the empty rounds, nails, foils
and other crap and the depth and find results will be just extreme !!!

What I'm so far not shure about is if the settings get saved to flash-memory (like the Garrett Ace does) or if they
have to be inputed after every new switching on again. Seems if it was set to vibration this gets saved for later.

It does look like there is a switching regulator on that PCB, based on the small multi-lead IC and the square inductor next to it. Probably set to give something like 6 Volts or similar, like the Tek T2 has.

It is not saved, you have to re-adjust everytime you turn the detector on.
There's plenty of guys on the US forums that are now selling newly bought Racers.
Like any new machine, many go out and buy due to all the hype and excitment of getting a new machine only to sell shortly afterwards.
It didn't live up to "their" personal expectations, or it just was not to their liking.
The Racer had a few problems but, Makro was taking care of it.......if you broke your coil ears, they shipped out new coils........
Those that are happy with the Racers performance have found themselves a nice useful detector.

                  @ SVEN1
thx for the info - so far I didn't read any Racer threads in US forums and I also doubt there are the real tech pros to find...
Engineering new stuff is not that simple or "failproofed". I know this from myself:
Great ;-) ideas but in the end this or that still wasn't minded and has to be corrected, improved or added.
However I have alot experience with metal-detectors and the Racer really is nearly "perfect" already now.

Perhaps the whole coil-attachment-stuff should have been made much more stable so even persons
who use MDs like a shovel - the hard and heavy style - have some sort of "undestructable" product
and of course the whole rain- or moisture-protection should have some high quality level so it is
not just a "sunny weather detector" but all in all and seen from the depth, lightweight and signalizing-features
we have now a detector that is with just 4x 1,2v accus deeper and more lightweight than anything else.

Btw. the metal ID also is very constant and accurat, if you sweep over a buried lead-ball all the time the value 80 shows up.

Of course the real depth needs trained ears because this way you can set it to sensitivity highest (99)
and still will catch the most deepest signals. But what really counts here is that the signal is distinctive to the
background and that it is repeatable all the time. No prob for the Racer, you even get 2 different signals at the same time -
the audio and the metal ID (or even the vibration).

                  @ Skippy
thx for the info, a highly stable regulated voltage of course is very important so its good we know now that it's there.
It was just positioned at the wrong place. This PCB should have been placed where little drops or penetrating films of water
can't reach it. And I also guess that the PCB had some salt-remainings on it - that's why the water got higher conductivity.

btw.: Always have some screwdriver with you to see what's going on, even while treasure-hunting...

Have you forgot about the Teknetics T2 / Fisher F75? I think informed detectorists would say the Racer is heavily 'inspired' by these machines.

I agree with your observations about the location of the electronics in the armcup assembly. It's very likely to get wet from dew-covered grass, sea-water, puddles etc.

                      1. Water protection:

Below you see the pix - there are 6 "holes" that have to be closed:

                      1. Speaker gaps
                      2. headphone-jack & on-off knob region
                      3. holes that go into the alu-pole to adjust the arm-rest
                      4. the region where that pole is connected with the plastic
                      5. the hole where the cable comes out !!!
                      6. the small gap or line where the black lower plastic is in contact with the red plastic

You may need some gum-stuff, water-resistant glue, scotch-tape or whatever
or simply wrap the whole region with a plastic-bag if the grass etc. is not absolutly dry
or if it starts to rain.

I don't wanna make you paranoid - I used this detector while heavy rain and I protected
the display-part with a small fridge-bag which worked well enough but of course
its much better if this all the time with ground in contact battery & speaker part
                      is as water-proof as possible.

                      2. hunting by light signals !!!

This also is a fantastic newity !!!
If you set the LCD display light to on (brightness 1-5) the display will automatically
switch on if you get a strong enough target!
If there is no signal or just weak ones the display will automatically switch to off
                      for saving battery-power.

                      3. flash-memory saving:

The Racer will save the settings permanently but only the vibration and background light ones.
Even if the batteries have been removed and re-inserted.
The rest is not saved and as a standard the Racer starts to search with "Two Tone"
                      and Gain (= sensitivity) 70.

This means if you turn off the detector at night-search the next time if you start it
the LCD light will shine if you have set it to setting 1 to 5 before. So there's no problem
to have directly the whole display info etc. ready to go.

Seen from the effort its nothing to adjust at the beginning of the treasure-hunt the
detector to the personal wishes (this takes 30sec) and afterwards as long
as it was not turned off it will work as adjusted.

                      Racer vs MXT

which means a pretty heavy detector from White's (I guess it doesn't even works with a 40cm coil)
perhaps the larges that works is that not originally Whites: Detech Coil 13 inch (ca. 32cm)

                      http://www.whiteselectronics.com/acc...oks?cat=31&p=1

The design has nothing to do with it, LCD display detectors all more or less look the same.

There are discussions going on about how good it performs at trash-yards
and everyone has a different opinion. Some say the Racer's metal ID does not work
which is definitive wrong! There are no very technical persons and everyone wants
                      something else.

btw. so far I never heard that White's created any of the deepest detectors at all.
The White's usual pinpointer Bullseye is totally weak while the new Makro Pointer
even is 50% more sensitive than the usual Garrett Pro-Pointer (the new orange one
                      I haven't tested so far).

And as long as I haven't tested personally the MXT I can't compare both but I know
from many different field test results that Whites never was anyhow close to reach most
deepest targets. Even some detectors from Bulgaria or Romania are already much deeper.

Of course also quality is what counts and a super deep detector that gets destroyed
already by a little bit of water might cause more trouble than a not so deep but
pretty solid, stable and reliable built one. But this doesn't mean the Racer would be
not built solid and stable enough. And rain or water can do harm to any detector.

What I try to do here is to show up the weak-points so other persons will have
no problems at all in the first time or to make clear what has to be improved
                      with further models.

The Racer comes with absolute fantastic depth, weight and so far never seen
features and it costs just the half of "profi-detectors" which perform far less good!

And we will have soon enough all kind of serious performance tests that will show how
it compares with other detectors incl. new ones. High mineralized ground, depth
and other important things. However first all those super famous detectors have to
beat the Blisstool, next they have to beat the DeepHunter and afterwards if they
still haven't lost enough they can try to beat the Racer. Per instance the new
                      Minelab that costs 7000 dollars.

                        Here a short info-update:

                        - its possible to detect high mineralized stones by default settings
if they are very "energetic" and close to the ground by the
                        Racers "coil overloaded" siren signal

                        - the same signal can occure permanent if the coil is protected by the
plastic coil cover and this cover plus the ground is very wet
                        (solution: remove the coil-protection-cover)

                        - if the speaker is water-protected it's too quiet
(solution: use just a thin plastic foil for water protection or headphones)

                        - detection depth is amazing but you have to set the default gain
from 70 to 90 or above for maximum performance

                        - energy: it works with a set of 4 x 1,2 NiMH 2500mA accus
for around 25 hours or more (always have a reserve pack ready)

                        - vibration detection with 40cm coil: it also works but the
sweeping should be pretty slow and gain must
be set to 35-45 (but then it's still pretty sensitive)

                        - The coil-cable is too sticky, amost like a rubberband.
This can cause problems while plugging it into the detector
because it sticks to the pole and may harm the cables inside.
Solution: ca. 25cm windings of clear scotch-tape

                        - this detector in all-metal-mode is the same sensitive as
a non-motion detector: even with very slow sweeps already
the smallest and weakest chances in ground and metal will
                        be recognizable

                        - the "how close is the target" works very nice even by audio
because a near the surface find will cause directly a pitched
high tune if the coil gets close to it

                        - personally I think the coils-stem is 20cm too short
(the coil cable would be long enough for some additional 20cm)
because I love huge sweeps and the shorter the pole the less
large the sweeps can be made (solution: some stem-tinkering
should do it); and the coil is lightweight enough to move it 1m
                        ahead of the body.

                        - the detector finds stuff deep at clay regions with a very good
signal and my meanwhile most smallest find was a 15mm bullet
ca. 20cm below with the 30cm coil and the signal was
available already 10cm above ground which also is important.

                        - perhaps I will built some audio-cable that connects the
Racer with some mp3-player and both directly with headphones.
Usually the audio output stages are strong enough to deal with
some input energy if its not too loud or powerful.
Per instance I have already connected the TV stereo-out with
the smart-phone and computer audio out this way so I can hear
it over the amplifier which works pretty good (it only reduces
a little bit the volume of the additional connected devices)
This way then I can hear music and the detectors signals directy loud
and clear over the headphones and with both volumes good adjustable.

On the topic of the Dankowski forum, this review of the Racer by Tom D is one of the better ones:
                          http://www.dankowskidetectors.com/di...2545#msg-72545.

Your battery life figures put it in the same range as the Tek T2. That draws about 50mA, and 40+ hours battery life is achievable.

If Tom D = NASA-Tom (1st post) then I must correct him absolutly:

He wrote: "With a Sens of '60'...... the unit is nearly at max depth."

At least this info is completly wrong, because yesterday I drove with the Racer to my special
deep test location - 500 grams of beer-caps buried 66cm or 2ft at very high mineralized loamy soil.

The Racer with 40cm coil has to be at Gain (= sens.) 90 to 95 and the ID-Filter
at only 10 (with 2 Tone Mode) so its detectable with a reliable signal.
Of course like any other MD in all-metal mode it will be the deepest and best signal.

The coil will give a 50 x 50cm large region signal over such pretty deep find and
still ca. 10cm above surface. But don't try this with just Gain 70 and ID-Filter 30 -
with such high disc. and pretty low sensitivity the signal will be no longer available.

                            Next:
The standard plastic screw for the 40cm coil is too short! (see pix below)
There are just ca. 3 windings left which do not provide enough strengh
over longer time. If they wear out sooner or later the 40cm coil has no more stability.
The inside space for the stem's screw hole part also is ca. 1mm too broad.
This results in bending the "coil-ears" which is not the best.
Solution: Some thin gum-part as a washer inbetween.

Seen from the weight together with ground-covering performance
the Racer is the same good as the DeepHunter with the 45cm motion-coil!
It feels that holding and sweeping the complete Racer with 40cm is the same
as sweeping the 45cm DeepHunter coil only! This is very convinient and
its very practical also at pretty steep wood or hill regions.

Meanwhile I also found already 3cm small metal parts 15cm buried with the
40cm coil and vibration-alert at Gain 40. This sounds very low but it seems
that the vibration detecting has been adjusted different and with Gain 40
the sensitivity is already pretty high for metal detection.

                            The feeling is undescribable crazy:
Search with full loud mp3 music and the Racer with vibration in some woods!
It's like walking through a parallel-universe, especially if it gets dark.
A very sensational and adventurous experience.

At the moment I just have a little problem:
After some moisture found its way into the battery- and speaker-amp-circuit
the volume remains pretty silent even if the poti was turned to full.
Perhaps someone can see from the PCB pic above what may burned or happened.
                            Skippy?

However this is a good warning for everyone absolutly using moisture- and rain-
protection for all the electronic housing parts !!! Of course I even could add some
extra amplification circuit to get the volume to loud again but for others its better
if such problems never occure in the first time.

As long as the speaker-gaps are open and there is not much noise around
I still can work good enough with those pretty silenced audio-signals but
of course its better if I have the volume back as it was before.

Anyway, the Racer technically seen absolutly is far on the way on top of perfection
and persons who know how to handle it and are willing to work with the 40cm coil
                            will get unbelievable results.

I told it already: The Racer detects an usual bike from over 2 meters in air!
Not even the DeepHunter with 45cm coil was that sensitive.
And this high sensitivity does not get lost, not even at loamy soil!

3 days ago I found 25 !! musket-balls within 6 hours with it, this was my all-time record ever!
With the 40cm coil. And my arms didn't hurt afterwards, because the weight really is great.

                            Some technical advice:
If somebody uses the pinpointing trigger he should find a good distance to the find
when the switch gets pressed so the center signal really gets optimal clearity.
That way I could detect musket-balls already directly close at a 2cm exactly region -
but by the 40cm coil! And my smallest find with it was already just 8mm in size.

Interested audience, at least there are 3 different groups involved with metal-detectors:
                            - the business-people
                            - the tech-experts
                            - the real treasure hunters

This means that the tech-guys work together with the sellers etc. but here in our case
someone with all the needed treasure-hunting experience knows how the rabbit runs
thats why I can give you the really needed feedback - without exclusions.

The Racer is technically really almost perfect and state of the art 2015 if there would
be not that "not enough water-resistant" and plastic-screw problem. This has to do
with that the electronic-engineers most of the time work in their labs and not test the
detectors under hard and during conditions - like I do. But I still know about all the
technical important details. So at least rain-protection as a standard is a MUST for
the Racer to make all its owners happy for a long time and the plastic-screw should
be exchanged. The rest merely has to do with: "how good is the treasure-hunters
experience itself" and how clever is he to handle such really high sensitive device!

Per instance the coil-plug meanwhile fits perfect while it was a bit too lose
at the DeepHunter. Makro (now a jointventure with Nokta) really takes all the
things serious to improve it, but of course nobody knows beforewards everything.

But that's why we are here with all our sophisticated tests and very high demands!

For real profis, I really can give them the tip to hunt at Gain 95 and 40cm coil incl.
large 1m radius sweeps !!! With this method someone can discover even small stuff ultrafast!

And meanwhile I also found out that this detector is very electro-smog immune!
This means very good depth (ca. Gain 80) even directly in the middle of large cities or buildings.

Whats missing is an inbuilt mp3 player and digcam, but perhaps we get this in the next model!

                            last but not least: thx for the 5 stars - * * * * * - for this thread !

I'm unsure what exactly your problem with the audio is. No sound from the loudspeaker? No sound from headphones? Both? It seems you may have oxidation of the contacts inside the headphone socket. Turn the volume to maximum, have the detector screaming, (eg. pinpoint then move it near metal) then plug/unplug repeatedly the headphones. Hopefully the loudspeaker will start working again when the oxides are burnt away.
