  • PI and VLF in one box

    Hello ,

1.Is it possible to built or already have in one box PI and VLF metal detector and when you are
not sure about finding or not sure about reading like to search deeper .... and because of these or similar reasons like to make double check simply switch from VLF/PI or opposite

    2. I have V3i but it is to complicated to set up for proper searching( also I am not sure in advance given searching modes) - and give uncertain, confusing readings ...because of these reasons do not know if is good tuned and thought that
because of this reason I'll miss good findings I simply stop my searching .......probably you can understand this situation ...

4.Any advice about good choice of metal detector with simple set up something like turn on and search mode for gold/silver/ ... with auto balancing

5.What do you think about TDI,Nocta,Gerret ,Fishers,ATM, Pulse Star II Pro,Tehnetiks T2.Minelab's E-Track and CTX 3030..... for searching coins, rings not nuggets/natural gold (is it this reason very important in proper choice of metal detector nuggets vs coins searching )
from mentioned which one is best for searching in hills/mountains also you can add from your experience with price up to 2000$....

6.I prefer one with display because I think would be more confident/would be sure about riding is it this advantage or disadvantage , which one is better audio or visual reading with ID

Thank you in advance on help

    Regards

That would depend on your terrain. Can you describe your terrain, or give some hint on your whereabouts?

Sorry, never seen one, so I cannot say whether it's any good or not. There don't seem to be any reviews available either.
However, there are some videos on youtube.

When I said terrain, I meant the type of soil, not scenery. If soil has high iron content, like in volcanic areas, or mineral rich areas like central Bosnia, or terra rossa areas like Dinarides, or extreme terrains rich in maghemite - you need a PI machine with ground balance. Otherwise go for a VLF and enjoy benefits of discrimination and much better power consumption.
Key factor in going for deeper finds is - am I really going to dig that deep only to find a piece of rubbish?!? If so - simply get a bigger coil and a bigger shovel.

Pick a VLF. If you are not in a hurry just browse through some fora and see what people say about their VLF machines.

Good advice Davor. Even in the relic range the variations are many. My theory is have many detectors, and the one that works on the ground of the day best is your choice.
I have a tacoma56 Pro DD board partly set up, but there is room to mount my IB board as well, even room for a shield between. Then it's just a matter of coil matching. I have ML and Infinium PI coils to play with, or maybe a balanced pair DD. Set up for the Pro, then dial in the IB.
Change the switch to a 2-way, and maybe a coupla blocking diodes on the coil wire junctions.
