Guessing from your questions I think you are not so experienced so far
with MDs and treasure-hunting therefore I really must give you the tip
to start with a simple and easy to use detector with 40cm coil like the
Makro Racer has for hoards and caches!
Because that way you can't do anything wrong and you save alot money.
Even better would be a non-motion detector so you can discriminate all the
small stuff directly by size (Jeohunter with 45cm coil) but for the beginning
you will have the best chance to find the "big stuff" with the Racer and 40cm coil.
It is very lightweight, you can "run" over the fields without geting exhausted
and it will be deep enough for the stuff you're looking for.
Of course you also can buy the XP-Deus with 35cm coil but it will cost ya the double
and the accu-time is bad, it has no vibration, no light and no special mineralic detection.
And the depth for shure is not better.
I don't know if the F75 or T2 have a 35-45cm coil available - if not forget them,
a 25-30cm coil is not the right one for deeper and larger stuff.
btw. I'm exactly working (see Makro Racer thread) and I say it if technical something is not good enough!
This here is a technical forum and we need improvements and the best technology available
to reach our goals -which are real and so far unreachable treasures and no castles in the sky.
And we made alot of fantastic progresses within the last years! Also through many thanks to this forum!
If you are a technical thinking and practical person you even wanna change stuff by yourself -
which I have done many times already - the modifications forum contains some nice examples of it ...
What do you think it is clever to wait on new model from Makro Racer with improvements if used in wet conditions
About Deus there are couple reasons to buy this Md
Probably it is state of the art in MD field , 99% excellent comments from users can be rid from forums
Another reason with any next update of their improvements software it is all time you have newest model for same money...
Regards
Well, I have no idea when some improved Makro Racer will be published.
So if you don't wanna wait too long its the best you buy the package with
the included water-protection-caps or you make it on your own better waterprotected.
The simplest solution is using some stable clear fridge-bags or not when it rains.
But don't forget that usually every detector has to be protected when it rains pretty heavy,
so this is not an especially problem.
About the Deus:
Just some new firmware-update doesn't means everything will be significant better.
And I have read already years ago in forums about the Deus and not everyone was satisfied.
Especially the depth is just slightly better than average, the price is an evil joke and
if something goes wrong while firmware etc. udating, you can throw it away if warranty time is over.
And when the little coil li-po accu loses power after some years there is the next prob.
This detector rather is something for those who want it futuristic, simple and very lightweight -
and who think they have so much money so they can waste it for whatever.
btw. the main problem of many so called forums is that there most of the time are
technical amateurs or treasure-hunters with their personal favors around.
Especially all those forums which are sponsored by MD-resalers are doubtful
because they have a big interest to promote all those detectors they also sell.
Much more reliable is it for you to talk to experts, to compare detectors by your own
tests or to check out serious made depth tests.
If you have the chance visit some MD shop personally and try the detectors there.
one man experienced in medal detecting field told me that they have opened box on one model and manufacturer of Macro have copy from XP all components in details in their newest model ,
this is reason a suspect because if someone copy from you can not be better from you ....that is my opinion
While you are concerned without end you better should have got already the Racer and
go searching. Otherwise you will end like some guys here who don't know after one year
of alot adive and info still not what is the best detector for them!
btw. yesterday I found some hoard with the Racer - it was a shattered to many pieces
mortar-ball 200 years old and it's pretty rare to find places where those hit the ground.
And of course you're info is bullsh*t - I start to wonder where are you looking else for infos.
The Makro Group built already detectors when XP not even exists and they would be
far too proud to copy this wanna-be-profi-detector with its ridiculous pricetag.
The Racer has totally different features, it is not wireless, it is deeper and better.
Personally I think first you have to buy some PI with 50cm and 1m coil plus some
VLF-induction balance detector with at least 35cm coil (better 40-45cm) so you
can personally test them both for a longer time because otherwise you will not
believe anything anyway.
