  • Surf PI "problems"

    Hi!
I've recently finished my second surf PI detector from Silverdog. A few days ago a friend and I went out to test them. The detectors worked perfectly but.. if the detectors are getting to close to each other we both can hear a beeping sound in our headphones. It only stops if one of us switches off the detector so it must be some radio interference going on between them. My questions are:

Would it help to change the main clock frequency on one of them?
    What's causing the interference?

Unlike a VLF detector, changing the TX pulse rate on a PI will not reduce the interference. This is because PI detectors use a wideband receiver. The only solution is to stand further apart from each other.

In fact, I have two PI detectors here; one running at 1kHz, and the other at around 5kHz. They both go mental when within 6 feet of each other.

So it's not just mine detectors, good to hear.
