I would like to build the deep seeking metal locator, but am having trouble in locating the coils that are used. The coils are by philips and are no longer available.Could anyone look at them and give me an alternative e.g R.S components or maplins parts numbers?
Cheers Dean...........

Re: PE Magnum
Hi Dean
I read the coil description twice and it looks to me that you can't buy the coils. You have to wind the coils by yourself. The author gave only details what kind of coil bobbin etc. he used for the coils and where you can get them. Attached is a detail drawing of the P18/11 coil accessories. Maybe this helps you to find them or similar.

Chris

Re: PE Magnum
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply,I will try and find the same type of coil as used as I would really like to build this project.I also find from the parts list for this project that quite a few greencap and styroseal capacitors are used, but am not able to find them through Maplins or the RS components sites.I assume that these capacitors are now out of date. Can you tell me what type of capacitor now replaces this type.
Many thanks Dean Flain..........
