    It's only a caveat. If you modify the detector it might result in it failing certain regulatory tests, such as FCC or CE.

    This is like a packet of salted cashew nuts that has a label on the back saying: "Warning - may contain nuts". Which is [pun intended] just plain nuts.

    It's the usual practice nowadays of CYA (cover your arse).
