Red Heat Mk2

Hi Everyone,
I have a RED Heat Mk2 detector.
Mine has an optional extra fitted which is a toggle switch mounted on the front alongside the coil cable connector.
I do have some very limited instructions where the switch is briefly mentioned.
"switch down-Iron out"
Now this would seem to indicate a fixed iron disc. setting but mine does nothing.

Does anyone have one of these machines with the iron switch?
If so, any info would be very welcome.

The case of these machines is sealed and so I am a not keen on trying to gain access. (for the moment at least)

hello, can you do some pics of inside? so then i could upload a schematic and we might go to conclusion what makes the switch.
anotherway, i can not help by anything. RH brings tesoro's schematics similarity. nothing something fantastic there.

Hi,
The case of the detector is constructed from ABS and is welded together which means that I cannot get inside without possibly damaging the case. At the moment I cannot get access to the circuit board
