I picked up a harbor freight stud finder like this one at a yard sale today;

I wonder if it can be turned into a pinpointing probe?
Here are some internal pics;
It has a 4093 and 2 LM324's.
It has a ferrite stick for the coil and I found someone else using it as a pinpointer;
