Does anyone have or know where I can get a schematic for the XL-200?

    Thanks

    Re: Garrett XL-200

    Hi Beachcomber

sorry, I don't have the schematic but I have a question to you...I've seen this many times already in many messages and want to know.
For what stands "HH" at the end of your message. I know that in Germany "HH" stands for the car numberplate from Hamburg city. But I'm sure you don't mean this....or do you?

    Regards
    Chris

        Re: Garrett XL-200

Have you tried Garrett? This is such an old model, that surely they'd send a schematic. It's probably a very standard PI design, shouldn't be hard to figure out.

The xl 200 schematic has always been on the net. It the one mislabeled as the xl500 with the LM 324 chip.

XL200 was slightly simplified but basically the same as the 500. Notice that the switched central control is missing.

I have a XL-200 out of the Lexin Case waiting to find a new enclosure some day.

Just looked at the Saddle board with Controls. That schematic is wonky on the Audio section and does not show the charging set up associated with it. Mine is somewhat like the XL-500 set up. See Snips.

                  Hi,
I'm having troubles to make my XL200 working properly.
The TX is OK but the signal is too low at the output of the 4066 to drive the MPSA13 (bc517 cause i don't have any mpsa13)

                  I have a question :
How to tune the resistor in parallel with the coil ?
I mean, how to choose the good value ?
I heard it deals with coil response ... the 3dss should be a fast coil ?
                  My coil is a 3DSS of 27cm and 350uH.

                  Thanks for helping

this call CRITICAL DAMPING RESISTOR. try use SEARCH engine of the forum and will find huge anount of links.
or... a book INSIDE THE METAL DETECTOR. nice reading for any beginner... some kinda READ THIS MANUAL lol!

I must misunderstand the search engine cause i cannot see any thread dealing with damping resistor choice.
Does someone explain me how to tune this resistor? I have an oscilloscope and so on.
If i was looking for a book, i would use google or amazon, not geotech. But i'm sure this is a great book.
I made few projects working but i just want to understand
