Last night right at the end of the hunt I was detecting near some metal picnic tables and the detector overloaded. I tried pulling the batteries, remove the coil nothing I could think of would rectify the problem so I headed home and about an hour later tried it again and everything was fine. I pulled the cover and checked wiring and resoldered all not perfect connections (5 almost broken connections) and while I was in there I replaced the 2x4.7uF caps with the 2x10 uF's that is a common mod that Sven does to his cutlasses and silvers. Looking forward to air testing the upgrade and compare the results.
While I had the detector open I took piles of pictures of the connections and the board so I have a good record of the connection if further wiring troubles occur
Anyhow my question is what can be done to "reset" the detector. This is the first time I have had this problem and I thought for a while that the detector was blown. scared the poop out of me at least for a little while.
