  • How hard to add a SAT control to a PI?

    Hello all,

I have a new Aquapulse AQ1B that runs at a lower than stock pulse delay so the performance on lower conductors is very impressive.
There is one feature that I would like to know if it could be added and that is a SAT control.
The threshold has a habit of drifting below what is originally set and within a minute or two becomes silent. This requires the threshold having to be regularly tweaked so that the detector can be heard. Running the machine in a silent threshold reduces the sensitivity in that a target may not be heard. I believe the old Fisher Impulse needed regular tuning and the desire of owners to have an extra hand when detecting.
I am wondering how difficult a SAT feature would be to engineer into the detector's board? I am guessing quite tricky....

    Thanks for any ideas.
    Tony.

    Hello Anatloy

Well i was a little busy with lots of things in mind and also to much work to do. It will be nice for me to have full of my time to work on metal detectors, but unfortunally i have to work, be incharge of my family and also taking care of my wife health that now is much better. So far i will try to get new pictures from aquapulse and then i will send it to you.

About Whites TDI, do you have the schematics for it?

Thanks for taking the time to write me and i will be back has soon has i can take the pictures.

    Best regards

    Nelson

    hello Nelson,

this is kt315 writes you now. I do reply on your request. I got from you - two blur pics
low resolution of pcb while I asked you hight resolution pics, at sunny day, both side,
if possible of desoldered pcb, part list, measured details values.
    on this point you disappered.

    best regards
    Anatloy

"...I asked you hight resolution pics, at sunny day, both side, if possible of desoldered pcb, part list, measured details values..."

... along with traditional British breakfast, served early in the morning, with fresh "Forbes" magazine on the table, two cute Chinese girls serving it!
Not to mention Bentley Mulsanne parked outdoor in the most beautiful (own) mansion yard in the center of Monte Carlo!
All the pics should be presented on 456 " wide screen led monitor in front of the breakfast table, near the square mile pool in the backyard, of course!
And just after those conditions were met... maybe we can negotiate further!

        P.S.
My modesty is killing me! But that's me.

A better answer is that the schematic has never been published so it is hard to help you
as you need to add a cap and resistor to the correct place to create a SAT.

Here is the HammerHead with the SAT components circled. If you can draw a schematic
or partial schematic to locate where the parts need to be added then it's easy to do!

If Ferric Toes is around he might be able to point you in the right direction...
