  • Original Minipulse on eBay

Just noticed this on UK eBay ->
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/pi-metal-d...gAAOSw8w1X6UYN
The bid is currently at £150.

Looks like I need to dig out my original Minipulse, and put it back together after the back-engineering exercise. And ... mine is in better condition!

It sold for £174.99 + £8.20 P&P. There were two bidders competing against each other.
I definitely need to put my original Minipulse back together and put it on eBay, especially now I know there's a disappointed potential buyer out there.

      You don't say!!!

No, seriously; for such small doe is better to keep it in collection!
Nothing you can do with 175 quids and you'll sell a piece of History!
If i was in EU where things are much easier (stock transfer, payments, lower taxes...); i would constantly "hang" on Ebay, trading with those vintages and forming a nice collection!
I am still keeping in mind Carl's collection!
That's something you DON'T sell mannnn!

Maybe ... but I'm not much of a collector, and there's such a thing as too much clutter.
The MPP was originally bought as a non-working unit, and back-engineered to produce the MiniPulse Plus. That project is now completed. and it's time to move on.
Every now and then I have a major clear-out of stuff, which is a good thing to do.

          Ok, that's your decision.
I noticed that there are two kinds of people in this hobby; the "collectors" and "non-collectors".
And funny thing is how "destiny" rearranges it!
Deep in my soul i am dedicated "collector" and yet my objective occurrences usually are not allowing me to achieve nice collection.
This speaking either case; detectors and artifacts, the same.
I had luck to have huge number of models so far, yet i was pushed to sell them, never really had chance to keep the collection... due various existential reasons.
Also i had rare luck to search and discover indeed rare and precious artifacts, hundreds of them so far, and yet again was not in position to keep them and form a collection, which i would like indeed!
And there are people, the "non-collectors", which (by my opinion and impressions) are having all the good conditions to form and keep nice collections... and yet they are less than interested in that, pity!
          Ain't that a joke from a destiny?
29 years later i am still stuck with only 3 models; Deus, 6000 Pro XL and Fisher F2... and just a dozen "rusty" coins in a jar!
I feel once i die; people who will search through my stuff will barely realize that i ever did anything on these subjects at all!
          Ain't that most weird paradox!?

Ah so! Even Carl turned to "traitors tribe" !!!
End of days... i tell ya!
              ...
              Immortal...!? Tell it to God!
              Tell it mannn!
              Rise your voice!
Say few words in my favor!

              P.S.
What if one day there is no power to supply the Internet?
What if Carl (the traitor) decides to shut the forum?

I am probably in trouble now for dobbing.
He might as well sell them all, and just build a couple of Ivconics great designs instead.

Just in case the internet goes kaput or George and Carl get the s**ts with clowns like me I have copied and/or printed all the good bits.
I only have about 35 detectors so far, but intend to build many more.

I am constantly sending "subliminal" suggestions to Carl and Dave to start renewing the 1265 design!
Since they are together now under the same roof.
But obviously my mental skills are not that powerful... or they just don't read every topic...
But if Carl started to sell his collection... than something really wrong is going on there!
(Probably Clinton leads significantly in front of Trump!?
                  )

                  P.S.
It is last moment to immigrate to Mexico!

You've all got me thinking; now why don't I buy a Minipulse? I think it's because I'm busy collecting fossils, minerals, old bottles, old technical and radio books, old radios, postcards, matchboxes (I inherited my Dad's collection), cheese labels, railway models, old maps, books on ancient watermills, vinyl records and tube hi Fi gear etc etc. If I started collecting metal detectors I would have a lot of explaining to do to my Wife. Ssssh, I already have several Vallons hiding in different cupboards.

                    Eric.

                      Sheeesh!
You are the British version of me !!!!
Well... a much more educated, experienced, smarter than me, but that's due objective occurrences and conditions, in essence i recognize myself in those lines !!!
And for whats more; my wife is also dangerous specie too!
A man always must hide nice things from her! Cache too!

Many years ago my ex coerced me to get rid of my 19th century bottle collection and my coin collection(pre-decimal,pre-EU European and Pacific Islands). Something I deeply regret.
But since taking up detecting I am slowly accumulating some more "treasures".

Just as i wrote previous post; i was robbed for 20 euros by her!
                          See what i mean?! See!?
Q... keep your goodies, don't sell them!
Because all money goes in vain anyway!
By keeping the toys at least you'll have something to play with!

I couldn't agree more, but I expect we all find it very difficult. 35+ years in the same house is limiting our space to move. We don't subscribe to that idea of disposing of anything not used in the last six months

I ran an internet search on a friend of mine recently. He followed his job to Canada some 30+ years ago. His hobby was playing bagpipes and was collecting them. I see there is now a museum there with 60+ of his bagpipe sets.

So one answer to getting the space back is to find someone else to look after that collection

Another approach is to collect something you can store outside...The wife is down to 19 horses at the moment.

Of course one might store detectors outside having applied some of this new water repellent . I'm not sure I'd go that far.(Anyone tried it on a metal detector?)

I have a friend who collects and restores Citroen 2CVs and other variants. At the moment he has around 25 to 30 vehicles in various states of repair. As they're distributed in various places (barns and garages) I'm sure his wife is unaware of the actual number.

Another friend collects televisions, and must own a few hundred. He also has a complete set of camera equipment from a TV studio on the second floor of his garage. It's a large garage. He knows that, if he dies before his wife, she'll throw the whole lot in the skip.
