A few years ago I read how guys are using the HP 4342A Q meter to select coils and wondered if it had use in optimizing coils for detecting - like the Bigfoot for example.
Its minimum frequency is 22khz I think. I came across one on ebay cheap and bought it. Never got to using it and now wonder if I ever will. Cool for making Hi-Q coils for crystal radios - which I'd find fun, but extravagant. So what do you guys say - is it something you'd find useful or best for the ham guys?
My garage makes me look like a hoarder so I'm trying to eliminate unnecessary stuff...
