  • Pi Pinpointer on Youtube

    Hello to all,

I found this video on youtube, the depth is amazing!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Spcio0bolqo&t=5s

I know the pcb isn´t show in video, but maybe somebody knows which type of detector it is.

U can get similar distance with russian Pirate pi, very easy to make. Not same distance, but u can got 10 cm for coin size shown in video u posted.

There is no guarantee that this is pinpoynter. The big distance of detection is intimidating. Perhaps it's plain puls induction detector with coil wound on ferrite. The purpose of a pinpoynter to detect targets at short distances to be defined more precisely location.
Pulse inductive detectors need batteries with a higher charge. How do you see one pinpoynter with consumption of 300 milliamps. What battery will put and how will last this battery.

Video doesn't show whether it's a static mode or a motion mode. It's much easier to design a motion mode pinpointer to get that depth, but motion mode isn't very useful for a down-hole pinpointer.

You are right, if it isn´t a pinpointer and only pinpointer coil for PI, the depth is explainable.
I only ask because I´m interested in different designs. I build Teemo´s detector and it works great. I get distance for 1 Euro of 7cm, that is good for pinpointer.

It is a good distance. More than 7 cm are not necessary. However test your pinpoynter with small items - a pin, 1 cent coin and others.
