Carl,
Can you shed light on the sat mode?
trying to figure out how to make the sat mode adjustible.
The 4900 sat mode, uses a position on one of the switches to switch a 4.2 meg resistor into the sat circuit. When it is not in that position, the resistor is not in the circuit.
I have 2 5900 di pros. One has a toggle switch with manual wiring to the daughter card. The toggle switch says sat on/off, but it appears too switch one of two resistors into the circuit.
it uses all 3 terminals of the switch.

or maybe it is , i don't remember which, and I don't have the boards with me.

the second one puts the resistors on the daughter card, but only uses two terminals of the switch.
This seems to actually be a speed switch, where the SAT is connected only to the sat/geb terminal of the mode selection switch. In this case, the sat switch does not appear to be an on/off but instead seems to alter the resistor so that you have two speeds, if indeed this is the sat speed.
The IDX pro SAT seems to be different. There is a mod that gives you two speeds for it. It seems to be a different arrangement.
So what I am wanting to do with my 5900 di pro's is put a pot in that gives me a variable sat speed.
The IDX mr bill mod would be easy, just replace the reisitor with a pot, and that is documented..
It is not so easy to find the same point on the 5900/6000.
The 5900 di pro sl schematic shows the SAT circuit, and shows a 1 meg resistor in series with a 0 ohm resistor. I'm not sure what is going on there, other than it was selectable.
Can you find, or does anyone else on this forum know, how and where you would mod these detectors to have a variable sat speed?
