  • DRS Ground Exper "Digital Pulse"

The former engineer from Nokta who split and started his own company in Germany DRS
has a detector called the Ground Exper. I've owned it and sold it and am repurchasing the new Pro version.
Here's what I know and then I have a question. The detectors strength is the discrimination abilities.
    And ability to handle mineralization.

    Here's a video demo

My question is, What could possibly a "digital pulse" be. I do not know much about the internal working the electronics of a detector but I was told that it's ability to be a good discriminator is that the machine only reads the + part of the sign wave. What are your thoughts?

hello , i'm not an engineer and i cannot answer your question but i have a question for you : why did you sold it ?

I sold it because I was not happy with it's performance. Not too deep and it was weird. 2 years later I was revisiting and discovered the newer "pro" version made some improvements to it's depth and discrimination. So i rematched the videos on YouTube, reread my notes, e-mailed and asked the company some questions. My understanding of the machine took on a new level. So I just received the new pro version yesterday, I'm charging the table and battery as I write this in preparation for some serious extensive retesting. I've got notes from 2014 so I'll have a very comprehensive reference point. That's for asking AK48.

Clamp some gold-coins between bricks or bury them in high mineralized ground
so you can see if this pulse induction detector can find them.
I hope the lag of the signal in the video in real is better or you should search
rather slowly. And you'll have a lot sweeping with such a small coil.

But if you wanna find tiny gold-nuggets and the region is ok, good luck.

hello ! you sold it because you wasn't happy with it's performance , not too deep as you say , how deep on a can ?
i'm very interesting because i almost baught it but and i was waiting feedback from hunters that perform many test and i didn't find or meet someone , i'm lucky because i know you're gonna show me your test soonely, you know i live in Algeria and i must buy all the material from Europa , it isnt easy for us so , nice from you if you show me your tests
when you finished , thank you
          best regards

NB: what do you mean by " weird " " stange " ?

Weird and strange were my words to describe the results I got. In part because this detector is unlike anything I've ever used. Because it did not act like other normal detectors, I was not impressed. However the company has improved the software in the last 2 years with the introduction of the "Pro" edition.
The goal is to get the detector to indicate "iron" on all junk targets. It has a 5 bar discriminator you can click one by one and see when the target changes to iron. For example, a aluminum can when you scan it will scan as gold with 0 discrimination. As you test the item (can) with discrimination (1-5) you look for the least amount of discrimination to get aluminum to read as iron. And as I was testing it today it worked fantastic. Larger aluminum is easy to "discriminate" out. Smaller aluminum, like pull tabs are more difficult. You have to raise the discrimination to 4 or 5 to get them to indicate it as "iron"

thank's a lot Mr Landman , now and with you , i"m sure this detector " worked fantastic " but i must know about depth : what is the maximum depth and with wich coil with can and coins
can you give me a board on this , thank's

Tell you what. Over the next several days I'll be doing just that. I'll report all I've learned on this thread.
Look for more tomorrow. This will be objective and brutally honest.

Ok so here is what I have so far.
The testing was conducted inside my home. Air testing with various sized objects.
The testing was conducted with the sensitivity at 50% and the magnetic elimination at 30%

                    Aluminum Soda can
                    9" coil 42cm
                    18" coil 50cm

                    14k gold ring 3.2grams
                    9" coil 13cm
                    18" coil 14cm

                    10x10cm copper thin sheet
                    9" coil 31cm
                    18" coil 40cm

My next step is to take it outside and crank the sensitivity and magnetic to 100%
                    and see the difference.

hi ! thank you gain , the depth seem to be honest but in air , i don't imagine what it will be if ground test ?

My next test is to go out side (it's snowing right now) and crank the sensitivity to 100% and magnetic to 100%
and try the same targets. Will also add a 99% silver 1oz coin to the mix.
