    DEEP SEEKING

    Hi Geo
I remain interesting about this sketch. I increased proportionally the turns and C4 and I obtain 100Khz but only 1.4 V in the colector Q1 Tx. Do you remember what frecuency and V your DS ML was working? Did you used the same capacitors of schematic?
The article say in the first page 20Khz, but then in the six 100Khz.
    Has 100Khz a poor depth?
    Regards

      Hi.
Frequency was near to 20Khz. If you have inductance meter check L1, must be 160mH, else change the inductance or the capacity or both. At 20Khz i believe that the signal will be stronger. Did you use AC... transistor (it is germanium) or you used a Si one???
If you will tune the detector right then 100Khz is a good frequency for a 2Box. Gemini III works at 82Khz.

        DEEP SEEKING

        Hi
I do not have inductameter; for the Tx Q1 I used Si transistor 2N3906, do it diference?
        Regards

          DEEP SEEKING

          Hi
You are right, the inductance is proportional to square of turns number but the datum of
L2 Rx remain wrong (16mh) because this inductor has more turns than L1 Tx which appear with 160mh. Possibility the authors mean say +or-160mh but who wrote forgot the zero?

As i remember when i had the Rx coil parallel with the Tx then i had the abillity to "hear" the Tx signal from 7...8 m far. The Si transistor will give lower power and lower depth. How much lower.... i don't know

              deep seeking

              Hi Geo
Thanks for your datums. I`m looking for Q germanium. It`s possible that you save many Qs, I have burn four. Can only turns of N33 wire to take out for a goodcoverage?
              regards

                DEEP SEEKING

                Hi Geo:
                Excuse me.
The last post wasn't good write: the cuestion is: in the Tx of DEEP SEEKING, can a only turn of 33 number wire to take out sufficient power for a good coverage?
                Thanks

                  Hi.
If L1 is OK then Yes.
