Try to adapt to your coil the following program:
Bazooka Now
Target Volume = 50 (Whatever is comfortable)
Audio Threshold = 15
Tone (Audio Freq.) = 231
Audio Disc. = ON
Silent Search = OFF
Mixed-Mode = OFF
A.C. Sensitivity = 78
D.C. Sensitivity = 35
Backlight = 0
Viewing Angle = 25
Ratchet Pinpoint = OFF
S.A.T.Speed = 5
Tone I.D. = ON
V.C.O. = ON
Modulation = ON
Autotrac = ON
Trac View = OFF
Autotrac Speed = 8
Autotrac Offset = 0
Trac Inhibit = ON
Coarse G.E.B. = AUTO
Fine G.E.B. = AUTO
Disc. Edit, Block Edit = REJ. -95 - -21, ACC. -20 - +95
Recovery Speed = 20
Bottlecap Reject = 1
Hot Rock Reject = 10
Sweep Speed = 1
Ground Filtering = 4
Visual Disc. = OFF
Icons = OFF
V.D.I. Sensitivity = 85
D.C. Phase = ON
Graph Averaging = ON
Graph Accumulate = ON
Fade Rate = 5
Preamp Gain = 4
2 Frequency (Best Data) = ON
2 Frequency (Correlate) = OFF
V.D.I. Normalized = ON
1 Frequency (3Khz) = OFF
1 Frequency (15Khz) = OFF
These are the settings that I most enjoy using and they offer great performance except in the trashy areas, where I would turn up recovery speed and use more discrimination. Hope this helps.
If this one is noisy, first thing to try is ground balance twice in a row. I don't know why it works, but it does. Then lower preamp to 3. Then AC to 70. If that doesn't settle it down (assuming Electrical interference is the culprit), you're probably in a hot area. Try Preamp 2 and 15 khz frequency or Correlate.
