  • Surf pi 1.2 Specs

    Hello everyone!

This is my first post to the forum so hopefully I am in the correct room for this question..
I purchased a surf pi 1.2 kit and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. In the mean time, I am looking into search coil designs but I do not really have much information about the surf pi. I was hoping that someone might be willing to share some specifications with me particularly the voltage of the pulses to the coil, min/max pulse frequency, width, duty cycle etc.

    Any information would be appreciated!

    Thank you in advance,

    Matt

Welcome to the Forum . Top Right corner is a search box. Using Advanse Searching for Surf PI 1.2 shows about anything you could ask for. http://www.geotech1.com/forums/searc...earchid=371731

This write up has everything one would need to get the kit up and running. http://www.adrianandgenese.com/blogg...rom-a-diy-kit/

would be nice to have a section showing standard builds and spec like a sticky, just like the commercial ones, just the kit builds though also add a standard coil build in them as well just to get you started oh and maybe some scope pics lol

Look within the Projects Forum. Look under Surfmaster. http://www.geotech1.com/forums/forum...hp?14-Projects http://www.geotech1.com/forums/forum...-Surfmaster-II Sticky's we have. We do have Build Documents on most detector projects that progress to fruit and gain popularity. The Surf PI is so simple not much is needed. Everything your asking for has been posted within various threads on the project . Really don't think you can find a more Comprehensive Technical Related Metal Detector Build Forum . These folks are more then on top of the game.

Thank you for the response gentlemen! I am familiar with the search it is very useful. I was simply hoping that someone might have these specs available rather than having to browse through countless posts for bits here and there.
I can probably just draw the schematic in spice and get what I am looking for...

Kosacid has a good point. When I get everything built and scoped I will try to post as much info as i can in one place.

That's how it all gets here. Your da Man. The Surf being as simple as it is I don't think anyone has gotten too serious about it other then messing with different coil configurations. I have a un built Surf Kit here waiting for the Some Day to get here. LOL Just completed the Baracuda that's waiting for a proper housing when that some day gets here. The Mini will be my next project. All Parts on hand just need to order the board. I know someone did a post on the Surf PI with scope photo's some place. I'll look when I have more time for it.
