I'm not sure why the Nexus would show the reverse, unless the coil balance is being affected in some way by the soil matrix, but I'm guessing you already know the answer. Hopefully you will share it here.
Actually I have no idea. The MP behaviour is a result of many empirical tests and for about 4 years now no one have been able to explain how this is this happening. My own ideas for all detectors were that no one is able to go deeper in the ground than in air, but here it is. My own MP design proved me wrong. Now I also need to know how as the answer may provide a way to improve the depth of IB detectors even further.

Could be, but at what account.

Depth is probably most important criteria, but not only decisive when buying MD.

If we take (un)masking capability criteria, then picture could be different.

I regularly perform masking test on highly mineralized testing substrate using
old rusty wedge along with silver coin dia 30mm. This one:

Equinox easy pass this test with filter out iron wedge and detecting silver coin near to it,
      at the same time.

I cannot say the same for par example Nexus Standard MkII, I tested also.

Thanks for your interesting video. It is true, Equinox is far from "deep detectors" class.

Here some test results on different targets performed in high mineralized testing substrate:

Everyone have their own ideas about what the best detector is. I design and manufacture deep seeking detectors and as such the masking games and all other gimmicks are of secondary importance to me and to my customers.
I need a detector that can find the targets in the first place and will worry about separating them later.
If we can not find anything there will be nothing to separate either, right?

You can always try this out with the Equinox and see how it does.

          Or this instead.

At least the latter is a test that everyone can do, where the same can not be said for your example unless you are prepared to ship your Iron wedge and mineral dirt over and over. Cheers.

You cannot find target, if detector is not able to simultaneous retain and distinguish good
target signal from much stronger unwanted and filtered out (p.e.: iron wedge) signal.

Equinox is able to filter wedge signal out and still detect silver coil put near to it. Simple.
I need to say this, despite I am not ML fan.

If we leave aside your "delicate" MD, another recently very debated model as Makro Kruzer
fail to pass rusty wedge masking test too. Best performer at this unmasking test was F75 SE
which can filter iron wedge out at Discrimination position put on 13 (from possible 100 !)
along with full Sensitivity and clearly detect silver coin near to it.

I have and use Monte NBPT test too. Small clean new nails are not same problem, than
big rusty iron wedge. NBPT test can successfully pass even some cheap Chinese detectors.

Perhaps you can prove your claim on video???

I can, but need some time (I am one man tester and video cameraman).
Right now I am in preparations to go for some shopping in capital.

In meantime you can read my NBPT test report about 3 Chinese detectors and AT Gold,
prepared for Monte, 5 years ago, and posted on his forum, here:

Video speaks louder than 10000 words and/or reports.
If you do not have that please do not waste my time with big claims.

                    Agree.

Your video, where viewer constantly lost insight at control status of tested detector
speaks very louder, that your presentation is only one more tricky demo. Look at your
first video where status of detectors controls constantly disappear from viewer insight.

You are proven expert of big claim here. Mentioned super deep Nexus Standard MK II is
able to detect trail, that leads trough meadow as valuable target in whole path length.
There is nothing metallic under path surface, MK II simply distinguish trail from surrounded
meadow and singing on path as on valuable targets. The only way to overcome this, was
to put Sensitivity very low. Then audio targets signal stop singing and "super deep" gone.

So your puffed up arrogance and your detectors are not worth to waste my time. Bye.

doesn't look like usable field settings. Normal field iron would break though ?

No Iron doesn't brake trough, but coins do even under the Iron.

would someone clarify , Is that nexus a DIY geotech detector or is this a push AD video for the nexus?
