maybe you could use this updated version for the tests, you can change between the three views on the fly by pressing SW2 without going through the menus...Attached Files

try this one instead, it should fix the problem...Attached Files

minor visual corrections in the histogram view -90/90 marked for deletion -180/180 none -90 90 I see that adding -90 will result in lack of space
these corrections are not necessary
i found the reasons for trimming negative indications, in the twist setting RT2 affects this effect, U1 works properly and enters saturation with the same levels for positive and negative waveforms, RT2 should be on the X Y input

ok very good, the mcu sees the voltage drop through RT2 and then two different saturation levels for X and Y channels. A possible way to implement this would be to estimate the new value for Y and use two different saturation levels to indicate the saturation due to channel Y. It might be good to remove -180/180 and use -90/90 instead but it might be better to leave the vertical lines for -45/45 since they help to find easily what the values of the bars are...

if you have the datasheet of your lcd and if it is not very different than ks0108 I might have some time to have a look...
could you estimate the saturation voltage of channel Y in your vdi? a quick way to see it would be with the scope view and turning off the axis autoscale, the strength at vdi=0 and 90 would give you the voltages of X and Y, respectively, e.g. with a small piece of foil y~0 and with a silver coin (or with your stones) x~0. For X is about 2.50V and for Y I found ~1.96V when calibrated, or if possible with a direct measurement. As it depends on the RT value it might be necessary to set it manually instead of using an approximate value...

I removed the labels -180/180 and -90/90 to see how it looks and estimated the +/- 600 mV for channel Y for testing...Attached Files

very nice videos, the histogram labels are better to be changed back to -180/180 and -90/90. There is still something wrong with the saturation level, I can't see it in the scope view when you used the screwdriver, it would have been also good to show the stones in the scope view to see where they saturate the vdi... what op-amp are you using for U1, the values of R4, R6 and the offset? it also depends on the value of RT2

maybe you could do the tests with this version, I have reduced the latency of the display and changed back the labels in the histogram axisAttached Files
