  • Hello, are D1 and D3 ok? version v1.x is not very reliable because as it can be seen from LED or GLCD versions vdi numbers have big errors many times (e.g. >5), this means that in the vdi led the boundary between D1, D2, D3, ... is not sharp and you would have alternate led flashing, it would be better if you could give it a try to version 2.x the changes in the pcb are trivial, and you can adjust the discrimination with the trimmer, e.g. with a nickel coin vdi~20 you can have one led for vdi > 20 +/-5 and the other for vdi < 20 +/-5, with a small foil vdi > 0 +/-5 and vdi < 0 +/-5, and so on

    • roderico D1 and D3 ok! Version 2.x tried it, everything is fine . I think just swap places on the board D2 and D4,on the table works adequately, the target is the LED lit up in the correct range VDI).Thanks for the project!

      • ok, also if you find many false signals, check the voltage at pin 5 or 3 of MCP602, it is assumed to be 2.49V in firmware v1.x and 2.50V in version 2.x, 2.5V is always true if using MCP1525

              • roderico everything worked as it should! Swapped X and Y positions. The vdi scale turned out to be correct. Good!

                • Good day to everyone! Guys, I apologize for the request .... I want to collect this VDI indicator, but I do not know English, I have to translate each message on the head with the help of a translator. :
                  1.SCHEME
                  2.PAYMENT (LAY, DIP TRACE)
                  3.FIRMWARE
                  4.What indicator is used
For this gerber board from the author. Many thanksGerb.VDI roderico V2.2 with 3.3V.zip
Is it possible to collect all this for me in one archive ??? THANKS !!!

                  • Who filmed the video of the indicator? It's interesting to see how it works

                      • I would suggest you build the latest version v2.2 with MCP604 opamp and ST7565/ST7567 display (8080 parallel interface 5V) these are lighter than KS0108 displays.

you can generate geber files and/or adapt pcb size, connections, etc. from:

                        pcb: https://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?23823-VDI-RODERICO&p=269544#post269544

videos as SWL mentioned are easy to find in the thread (look for kroman01 he made lots of high resolution videos).

I have tried different ST7567 displays and found that contrast needs to be fixed to be able to use them, below the firmware that centers the contrast to 50%, you would first try with RR40 (tested with zolen display) and then with RR35 (lower regulation ratio) if you cannot adjust the contrast with current firmware:

                          • Yeah follow roderico tips, you will save your time ;D
My PCB for oled display with two MCP602 didn't give what I expected :s
My display stay black ... Roderico can you confirm that my PIC18 is ok if after writing with my pickit3 I have the message "programing complete" in blue ?
                            I checked VDD it's ok +3.3V for oled, VSS is 0V I used V2.2 for my pic18f26k22 and SSD1305 (8080). All pins are conected except VEE /A+ / K- and V0.
I have no idea of what is wrong PCB seems ok, ICSP work because MPLAB recognise the microchip and write it whithout error message...
If someone have an idea of something to check ....
                            Good luck nikko10 !!

                            • Good afternoon, Roderico, I have a small request, can you make a gerbera from this file, filling in with DIP-SMD adapters, to fill in 10x10cm when ordering boards in China?
Power supply B + is plus batteries, and V + V- is + -5v? Is this indicator suitable for Golden Mask-4? ThanksVDI PCB MCP604.rar
