Unfortunately the response to ferrite is going to kill sensitivity to tiny gold.

Sorta like reverse Bias the negative response of the ferrite could overcome the Gold Target ? When I had a Falcon I never seen that happen but then again I never used it in a situation that it could happen. Emmmm ? I only used it to check samples on Waists Dumps and things.

yes it is based on the falcon principle I have placed ferrite and gold together you do get a response depending on the angle you come from but i have not tried with black sand, its response is in line with the way the falcon works except you don't get the ping from ferrite
you normally would I don't feel i have reached the full sensitivity it is capable of yet its a work in progress.

the big difference between the falcon and this is the VCO, this unit has auto tuning like the falcon but also has a low battery indicator as well this design only has one adjustment pot to adjust the VCO thats all everything else is preset on the board and this circuit uses op amps with a split power supply rather than just transistors.
