If you remove the 68Ohm Resistor the Output circuit should be disabeld and no current should flow. If there ist still a high current the Diodes are defekt.

Without the 68R, the hexfet is not driven an i have a nice 8khz square signal on TX0 (it seems to fit the software tuning).
I've tryed,with differents diodes (through hole HER diodes) and the unit continuously start and stop but no heat.
I'm using 3 // batteries with a dc to dc board. I don't know the power consuption of the det
Ector but it's a vlf one, so, it should not drain that much..

It Could be a Problem with your adc connections. The AVR meassure the current of the outputstage differentiel with the 1 Ohm resistor. If there is a Short circuit (under the 1 Ohm or at the Pins of the AVR) the Unit meassures a low current and try to increase.
