I would Draw out the basic schematic . Not much to it really. That would give you a Idea of how the coil is being used. It may be nothing more the a tuning inductor easy to match up with something modern.

Two-box detectron detecrors are similar to the deepseaker by Phil Wait (project ETI 566). Frequency is 60-100 khz. But if you mesure tr output, you will find somthing about 12 khz because of modulated signal. Modulating frequency is around 500-800 Hz. Try to draw circuit and you will find that three stages of Detectron, Deepseaker and Gemeni 2 receivers are very similar. Other stages of receiver are original. In whole it has simple and enough interesting circuit. It would be good to have complete schematic so vintage detectors here.
