    Was detecting some odd coins the other day. The 1973 and 2008 Canada 5 cent were attracted to a magnet, 1987 not. Thought the 1973 was platted until I looked it up. Included the 1963 20 centimes on the chart because it lost a lot of detection depth with GEB on(PI hole).

    I also found a few nickels that don't attach to a magnet.

        What surprised me was the 1973 5 cents. Didn't know some coins were pure nickel and I had forgotten that nickel is attracted to a magnet. Have used thermocouples where one wire was nickel.

        Type K thermocouple. +leg(90% nickel, 10% chromium)-leg(95%nickel, 2% aluminum, 2% manganese, 1% silicon). I think the +leg was attracted to a magnet.
