I think internal stresses from the "harder" epoxies during curing might cause trouble with PCB's.
Acrylic casting masses can have huge stresses. You can cast in many layers if need be.
As a student I worked at a company making DC/DC converters. They were then filled with brownish stuff that hardened.
Everything like temperature/humidity etc had to be just right or else that batch was crap. It was very toxic too.
Today's materials are much better, but be cautious and experiment before you put your favorite pcb under goo.
