  • Slight problem Fisher 1265X

Can someone point me in the right direction

Disk 2 works fine all the time
Disc 1 works only after the machine has been on for several hours. Until then it gives a continuous beep

All metal mode I believe should be no motion. It isn't. Pull the trigger and the tone dies in a second or so

Changed the switch still the same.

Original is a dpdt but only one side is used?

hi koala, apart from the obvious butchered area, that pair of 1265x boards i threw in the box when i sent you the coil had good tested chips and such if you saved it it may help you test if something is out of whack.
sounds to me a component is out of tolerance until it warms up.
all metal should be non motion, at least mine was.

in reply to george's question to koala if he needed schematics(george's quote vanished when i posted)
i did send him the two versions i had of the genuine fisher schematic a while back, but you may have a better one.

            The slight problem got worse.

            Unit stopped working.

Quick examination and the FET has blown. Not got round to changing.

There is one on the spare board. Slightly confused as the D,G,S should be 180⁰ out according to the data books but the legend on the FET has them the same as the original VP0104N3

Anyhow not looked at it to carefully yet need to clear some other projects out of the way first.

Seen the original schematics. Unfortunately I can't read most of the writing on them.

Can't see why the FET would blow either. With upright components there are a few areas were components get very close to shorting less than ¹/₂ mm but even if they did it wouldn't cause a power jumps.

No Idea where I gathered this schematic from, here I'm sure . It's quite readable if opened in Paint.

Cheers can read that one better. At least I should be able to get the power supply up and running again.

Looks closer to my board than the one I found.
