I am planning on using Mogami WG2534 cable for replacement of coil cable on an Excal.
It has low capacitance, two twisted pairs, and outer shield.
The thing is that the coil has 5 or 6 wires out of it but on the board it only attaches two pairs.
The original cable did not have a shield but appeared to have at least two ground wires.
So I had planned on using a 4 pin connector scheme to be able to switch coils.
Now that I have this outer shield, how best to wire it:
Connect to ground of say TX at the connector and leave shield ground open at the coil?
Connect the shield at the coil to ground wire(s)?
Ground the shield at the coil but leave open at the top end?
On an exal does cable type matter much? Most use unshielded power cable type cables.
