  • Help needed with my T2 wiring ?

I am completely useless at wiring so my mate as offered to help, but we are stuck on how to repair the fault?I am having a wiring problem with my T2, as anybody got a photo or diagram to show where the wires connect to the jack plug socket. I sold my T2 on, but the guy brought it back demanding his money back, saying there was a problem with the headphones. So I gave him his money back and decided to fix it myself, at first I could,nt find a problem, but it seemed the speaker was,nt working,I had not noticed because I never use it without headphones. Anyway I soldered a new open type jack plug socket in, copying the original set up, but as I was reassembling it a wire broke off the circuit board, the white one. It as been stood ever since not being used, but my detecting partner offered to solder it back for me, but he has just got in touch and he thinks the socket is wired up wrong We used to have a photo of the proper set up but it was on the photobucket site and you have to pay to access it now So any help appreciated, thanks.

"Non-working speaker" is very common on these machines (and detectors in general), it's just oxidation of the contacts. If you use headphones all the time, the oxides build up, then when you're expecting the headphones to work, they don't. Turn the volume up full, get the machine making a lot of noise, eg. use pinpoint mode, and repeatedly plug/unplug the headphones. Hopefully, the repeated mechanical contact, combined with the presence of some volts, should break down the insulating film and the speaker will start working.

I'll have a look and see if I can find a pic of the wiring.
