  • Whites DFX repair?

Hi, a friend has fried his Whites DFX with a reverse polarity battery.
Are there any circuit diagrames or repair blogs avalable?
Currently reading the xlt repair posts which may give me some pointers.
    Thanks
    Geoff

I had the same problem with the Whites DFX, it had a cold bundle code - a battery contact and when I replaced the LP2951 and the LM2936-5 detector was working.

Once you fix it, put something like this instead of a power-on switch. It acts both as a crackling prevention, and as a polarity protector.

I was going to put a diode in series as protection but your idea looks better idea.

I like it because if everything is OK it will pass the battery voltage with virtually no drop at all.

This is a problem to load the schematic here? Detector is no longer produced...

                          Regards

Hi , I finally got hold of the dfx .It was totality dead so I replaced is u6 u7 an u8 the voltage regulators. Now the dfx turns on and the display is normal.
BUT it bleeps about every second and when a key is pressed once its as though its being pressed a number of times repeatedly. No debounce ? . trying to scroll through the menu is possible but eratic.
                              Any ideas ?
