I have done some more tests on the Fisher VLF 553D . The chip supply voltages - and + are all good. I can inject audio signal into receive circuits and it comes through the speaker fine. I have tested all of the chips on my op amp tester and IC tester and they all test good. What should i test next ? . I suspect a bad coil but i am not sure exactly how to prove if the coil is good or bad.

in my hubble buble you need to do global inspection of your board. begin to draw layout.
print big size pic of board and draw traces. you will get full connection pic.
do your job every day by small portions. draw by pensil, by hand.
remember nobody will do this job beside you - not Melbeta, not George, not mr. Foster, not me.
all are in your hands. draw connections of all wires to the board, by colors.
here example with GMT i did.

The board in my opinion is most likely good although i am not 100% sure. I just asked if anyone knows how to prove if this coil is good or bad.

My frequency counter is showing 4.3 khz on the transmit. Still thinking a bad coil.
