Finally had the guts to measure coil voltage & decay with oscilloscope on my Surf PI ...

No magic smoke coming out anywhere, my oscilloscope is still alive
BUT, the more I use my oscilloscope, the more questions I have

Like, does the kink in the 5534 opamp curve here mean anything or show something particular?

Oh yes, I am sometimes regretting having bought an oscilloscope for this,
because I can find and see so much N..O.I..S..E now and also strangely enjoying it.

The kink is from the diode clamp recovery. Probe the diodes and you will see it clearly.
