  • Best diy kit metal detector

Whats the best diy metal detector kit? Is it a good idea to make your own golden sable or idx? I only see on the idx a vdi version but seems it has a lot of glitches, is it posible to do a smaller version with the stock bar version? Or a working vdi version?

there is not tgsl. that you recall tgsl is Tesoro Compadre. tgsl as name was invented by one serbian guy to mislead
geotechers in a delusion making overloading surplus noise.

TGSL is very good machine. It is tesoro golden sabre without notch feature. Kit available. Since no layout existed for compadre, TGSL captured niche among diy hobby builders. Very popular among builders.

                  without notch feature

                  DB

you say without notch feature.... King Cobra is done by me. GMT HAS notch feature. why serbian guy could not do the notch feature
while i could? is it so hard to do notch feature?

Your GMT cobra is excellent machine and I applaud the tremendous work you have done to reverse engineer and present a complete and comprehensive project. But it is also tesoro design(golden sabre/royal sabre).

The TGSL was meant to be like the compadre, a turn on and go detector. Good for builders now starting off. PCB layout easy to make at home etc. This is why I think it became a favourite of home brew.

yes but it has to be said that building coils for the tsgl is a pain in the a***, in fact most buy a genuine coil, or go the musketeer route.
even then setting it up without a scope is no mean feat, it is not a newbie project.
if you are dead set on a tesoro type design just get KT315's king cobra and build it to use a genuine coil.

would I need to buy a tesoro coil for this build?

Tesoro or Detech coil with 5 pin connecting plug will work.

I got the TGSL board from silverdog and bought a coil that dfbowers makes, his coils are very nice and work fantastic with the TGSl, try PM him for more info, I am more then happy with this VLF . If Pulse induction is your thing! Go with the MiniPulse plus Beach ! you can't go wrong with it !
