  • I'm using DxO Optics Pro 8 to modify photography, I'm going to analyze individual programs over the weekend - and I'm trying to do a screen scan.

      Guessing 18870Hz & 6290Hz.
the frequency values are slightly different in a small range depending on the type of multi-frequency programs.Click image for larger version

This could easily be due to frequency resolution of the software sampling rate and FFT binning.

        Good stuff though.

        • with the VA program will not be a problem to do a lot of stuff .., I do not think the FFT would have been inaccurate in this direction, but I try to compare it .. On Screenshots I used Lightshot program ..Click image for larger version

          • You can also use "Alt" and PrtScn to just capture the active window, and miss out your desktop background etc. It may be useful, a bit.
And as mentioned , there's a new thingy called 'snipping' that is included with the newer Windows versions.

            • %windir%\system32\SnippingTool.exe
              ...
For indeed simple and fast manipulation, cropping, converting between all the possible picture formats; ACDSEE soft. Any version.

              • Ivconic..I tried a snipping tool and that's ok ..

As long term totally dedicated Windows user; still i keep forgetting on it.
Every once in a while i "discover" all over again that nice and neat Windows component.
                  Crazy.
Because on each new Win installation i also do install SnagIt as my default tool for screen&area grabbing.
But i also do use Snipping Tool too... when i recall that it exist on system!

in these new Scan Tests I used the probe as the external ferrite AM antenna-from Tescun pl 365 - I think the measurement results are quite accurate ..,Click image for larger version

                        • El Nino, you're sample rate is too low to capture these signals at decent resolution.

                          • Do you have 192kHz sample rate as an option, Nino ?
Do you think it will make any real difference to the spectrum analysis ? At 96k sample/sec, he's (just) sampling more than two samples per cycle of the highest freq of interest, 40kHz.

Hi ... Carl ... thank you for warning .. something is not quite ok, .... .... my laptop's sound card - it allows sampling up to 96 000 Hz / 24 bit, and in the VA program alone -mam set-up up to 96000 Hz / 32500 FFT-24bit ..so I'll have to buy better an external sound card...or new laptop..

Hi Skippy... I think the setup can be 96kHz / 24bit limit, because in VA program my good working maximum setting is: 96000 Hz / 32500FFT-mono-24bit ... if i change to 96000 / 65000FFT ... I'm losing the signal from the highest 39kHz frequency..Click image for larger version
