          DaveRave,
When Compass Electronics went out of business, the assets were owned by the former owner. He was in bankruptcy, but he sold the electronic assets, the name of Compass, and a few other things, to the guy who was previously in charge of the Compass Service Center in Oregon, USA. Now the first few units had all of their parts, so they worked great, The service guy was running out of money, as his wife had cancer, so he began to put units together, without some of the parts, as he had no money to buy the parts himself. Those are not that good. That is the story!

Here is a PDF file, which I can attach, and it is from the main guy who had the European dealership. So at the time of this PDF file, everything was good. But it went to hell in a hand basket when the units missing parts went onto the market...

You notice it has SALT WATER on the GROUND BALANCE? Well, that means it could tune out some of the wet salt water beach material, in that area position of the Ground Balance. But as more and more salt water is over the wet beach sand, no machine can cope with that much salt water. I just gave you the truth.

ok thanks melbeta...i will try and repair the compass but i see a lot of the ic's are surface mount type which makes life a bit more difficult if one needs replacing...but i must say the unit looks very good quality.

                          KT315
What you posted was the George Payne version of the Coin Scanner Pro, not the service guy's version of the Coin Scanner Pro II. Now I have not seen the inside of the Pro II, so I do not know for sure if he used the CSP board, or if he made up special new boards. Now I was told he used the George Payne version of the PCB, and just modified it for his own Pro II version. As far as I know, all he did was basically put in a adjustable ground tuner control pot. But again, I do not know all of the story regarding the standard changes between the Coin Scanner Pro and the Coin Scanner Pro II version.

That is what i am after as well. As far as I know there is no known schematic drawing of the Pro II. There is a schematic out there of the George Payne version though. I think you have it as you once posted a copy once where you put your website name over the image. Here is a photo of the front controls of the Pro II version.

                            Coin Scanner Pro II PCB.....

And here is why I believe he just used George Payne's Coin Scanner Pro PCB for his Pro II unit. Sorry, but this is as large of a copy as I have...

Now your old post of the Coin Scanner Pro schematic, was not too legible. So I think by now you probably have a good clear copy of the schematic and of the top of the PCB and of the trace side of the PCB. Am I right?
