    Use an ordinary Lm2940ct-5 ( yes 5 volt!) but put a 5,6 v zener in the commen lead of the LDO. The current through this lead wil bias the zener. You wil get a nice 10.6 volt with a input voltage difference of only .2 volt. Use a capacitor of 22 uf at its output. Be aware that the leads of both divices are numbered differently!!

      You can use an LT1054... just plugs straight in no mods or anything.

        The lt1054 is nice because you can use it up to 15vdc.

          Yes thats true.. I have used it a few times in different circuits and no problems with it.

            Are you talking about the Hammer Head? I don't see a reg1117a in the Hammer Head?

              REG1117A is used in "Gary's Twin Coil PI" (also called Pulse-2).
